Hello ladies,
What are your favorite books in regards to disciple/behavior methods and techniques.

Thanks in advance! I'm making a list for a mom's group.

What can I do next?

Love and Logic is my favorite.

What ages? that will make a difference.

I have also heard mom's on here talk about:

Happiest Toddler on the Block
How to Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk
Five Love Languages - there is one geared for kids and parents

Love and Logic. Teaches discipline through natural consequences, and stresses making choices to learn HOW to make good choices as they grow. Teaches critical thinking - takes more work from the parent, but puts the responsibility for behavior on the child.

Creative Correction by Lisa Welchel. It's Christian-based, but she has great ideas for many common situations, realizing that what will work for one child won't always work for the next. It's great because she has a section of the book that's the "Toolbox," so you can find the situation, and then see the many ideas for discipline.

Helped me tremendously when my kids were young!

The book (new edition coming out in December) about Overindulgence, by Jean Illsley Clarke and David Bredhoff, and "No" by Dr. David Walsh. They both have longer titles, those are the short versions!

SORRY Patricia G.

I hope it didn't go through!

I agree Love and Logic.

BUT if you really want to understand this parenting style I suggest you guys find a class somewhere. We always take it free at the local elementary school or local mental health center.

Another thing that you guys might consider is reading the books on the 5 languages of love. They helped me to understand how my family feels loved. How they feel appreciated and needed. I love these books.

I've always liked, "The New Parent Power!" by John Rosemond. In fact, I've enjoyed all of his books. Here's his Children's Bill of Rights that we've had on our fridge forever: http://rosemond.com/2011/bill-rights-children-poster/
