So I finally got my IUD out on Wednesday, did not hurt as bad as I thought it would but now I am bleeding A LOT and the cramps are just awful, just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has experienced it as well. I should also state, I got a bacterial infection in my uterus due to the Mirena so is it also possible that it's a combination of both the removal and the infection? or is it just my body having issues with having a foriegn object yanked out of it.....
Thanks :-)

What can I do next?

Yes M., I remember Ihad bad cramping for about 24 to 72 hrs after that everything lightened up. Now I didn't have a bacterial infection though. So if thats the case that could add to it. I really wish they would pull those IUD off the market I really don't know anyone to hve them in more than 3 to 5 months and not have issues. Take some tylenol or motrin and rest if youcan.

not sure if I can answer this for you since I had Mirena removed and another inserted the same day. My removal did not hurt at all... I didn't feel it even. Having a new one inserted hurt but I am ok today. So my guess is it is probably the infection or a combination of them both. I am bleeding although not bad today but again I had a new one inserted too. Not cramping though.
I don't think this is normal so I would call the doctor and ask what is going on.
Hope this helps :)

I had mine removed a couple months ago and I would say it is a combination of them all. I had a horrible exp with mine. I went through the cramping and bleeding afterwards. I do have heavier periods but I am trying a strong birth control to get my hormones back on whack. HTH
