Relocating to Denver, CO - Carbondale,CO

I am relocating to Denver with my husband, 3 year old daughter and 8 month old daughter and I'm wondering about places to live. My husband just accepted a job in Cherry Creek. Certainly the girls aren't school age yet but would like to be somewhere to make school transition easy. Any recommendations on areas with good school reputations as well as any good pre-schools would be helpful.

Thanks!

I just visited my sister in law and her family there. They live in Highlands Ranch. We also stayed in Golden. They are both nice and kind of pricey places to live but the schools in Highlands Ranch are good, according to my sister in law... good luck! I LOVED visiting there. It's beautiful!

I hear Evergreen has good schools, but don't personally know.

If he's working in Cherry Creek: Observatory Park is nice, Wash Park (very, very pricey, but less than Denver Country Club) Alamo Placita and the neighborhoods in between the three. It's a good starting point.

Going north from CC: Park Hill, Cheeseman Park and the areas around the Botanic Gardens.

If he doesn't mind a commute, I'm partial to Arvada ;) Highlands Ranch is to suburban for me, very cookie cutter and it's a bit of a drive to CC. The Highlands/Sunnyside are nice and are really coming up...Lakewood isn't a bad dive depending on where you're at. GL!!

Get with a Realtor, they can help you with all of that. You can also, if you have a chance, go there and talk to the people at the schools to see what other parents think.........actually, you could take the kids to the park and talk to parents there..........of course, you would need to do that before you actually find a place to live unless you rent an apartment first...........

You can also get on the internet..........look up the chamber of commerce and see what it has to say for schools and such in the area.

Good Luck and congrats..........I hope everything works out great for you.
