Recommended Nanny Agency?

We signed up for gonannies.com and it was worth it but we had narrowed down to 3 candidates when I decided to advertise in my small local paper & found someone we absolutely loved. Just be prepared that for 3 kiddos full time will run $375+/week in the suburbs. There are many Nannies to be that work at reputable daycares that have small children of their own who would rather watch your kids, if they can bring their's along. We had two such cases where the candidates had a toddler or a 6 yr old and we actually had the candidates bring their children to the interview so we could meet them, too.

I'm not familiar with any nanny services; but I will give you these bits of advice....

1. Keep your sense of humor in all situations.

2. Don't over-react. Over-reaction will only push them away and cause them to lie or hide things.

3. Empathy, empathy, empathy. They have a reason for things they do, whether it makes sense to you or not. Help them learn from their mistakes....we ALL make them.

4. Accentuate the positive to eliminate the negative. Latch onto the affirmative...don't mess with the in-between.

5. Spend as much time as possible on your knees in prayer. God has a sense of humor, too; and he'll tell you in each instance "This too shall pass". Believe it or not...some of it passes much too quickly.

6. You just can't love them too much. A big hug makes a big difference.

7. Mainly...count your blessings and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
