Recommendations on Double Strollers

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good double stroller? My daughter will barely be 16 months old when baby #2 is born so will still need a stroller. I see a lot of people using the Graco duoglider, but just wondering if it's too big and heavy for loading in and out of the car quickly with 2 babies? Are the side by side ones better, or the stadium style? I'd really like something with a decent basket to hold a diaper back and packages. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a Maclaren twin side by side stroller that works great. It is easy to open and close and relatively light. It fits my 2 year old and 8 month old well, along with all the baby stuff in the baskets down below. I prefer the side by side, which fits standard doorways and aisles. It would be difficult to maneuver the other type through a door if you are alone and trying to prop a door open. Just my preference...

The Maclaren side by side can't be beat. It's expensive, but it's the narrowest side by side out there, and it's pretty lightweight. It's also easy to handle. Don't know about the basket issue. Beware of heavy strollers...Graco is the worst. They can be very hard to haul in and out of your car.

I had the same issue so your best bet is get a side by side and get one with bicycle wheels and good turning wheels in the front trust me this will make all the difference in the world

I have a VERY gently used duoglider(the newer model in Babies R Us,black and tan) I have 3 very little ones, 4 months, 17 months and 4 years. I loved the duoglider except for the limited basket space. This is not a huge problem if you put the infant carrier in the front. I was getting ready to list mine on ebay, but if you are interested in looking at it, I will sell it for half of whatever they are currently selling for at Babies r us. If I'm not mistaken, I think it is the lightest double stroller that carries an infant carrier(35lbs?) I needed a light stroller b/c I was going to be lifting it while I was pregnant with my 3rd. My 17m was an early walker and likes to walk beside the new baby's stroller-help! I will also have the matching carrier available too(probably around August or before she will be out of it) I also have 2 graco bases for the infant carrier. Let me know-they are in great condition ###-###-#### or email me ____@____.com I can email pictures too. I live in Preston Hollow near downtown if you want to look at it.

I only have one little boy, but my sister has two kids and has loved her Zooper Tango stroller. It is a side-by-side that allows you to put the older child on one side and any standard infant carseat on the other. When the baby grows out of the carseat, they can ride along with their sibling. It folds us like an umbrella stroller and allows you to go through small openings. They can be pricy, but I have seen them new on EBay for $259.00. My sister swears they are worth every penny. Best of luck!

My girls are 2 years apart and I upgraded when my 2nd baby was born to a Phil and Ted's Excellent Buggy model E3 with the optional 2nd seat and I love it. It can be a single stroller or a double stroller. When the baby needs to sleep it reclines into a semi or full horizontal position and then the toddler's seat goes on top. When they are a bit older you can have them both sitting (one behind and lower). It takes about 2 minutes to change positions because the seat attachment is two clips. Here is their US website philandteds.com to see the pictures of the different configurations. It stores compactly and easily. It has the pivoting front wheel so it is a dream to push. It is skinny enough to get in any door. I can go up and down escalaters with both of them in (probably not recommended) by myself and I can get in doors going backwards by myself. Words can not describe how much I love my stroller. I can not think of anything negative to say other than possibly it might be expensive for some but for me it was worth it.

I only have one child but I would recommend stadium seating b/c I've seen too many moms have trouble fitting the "double-wide" into some doors. It's a thought!

If you are anything like me you will not listen to this at all but my rec would be to get a combi side by side. I had the Graco duo and it was nice I thought...until I traded it in for a side by side. My boys are 2 years apart and I love the side by side. The nice thing about Combi is you can use the combi infant seat and it will fit into the stroller. No other side by side that I know of do. Side by sides are easier to monuever, lighter and fold just as compactly as front and back. I had troble with my 2 year old not wanting to sit in the front. Side by side takes care of that also.
Good luck!
