Duel Stroller Input.....:)

I have two girls and are only a year apart. I bought a peg perego duette sable stroller that was awesome but it was heavy for me cause I have back problems. I went an got a graco duoglider that was nice. I now have a babytrend sit n stand as I have a new baby along with my toddler girls now. Hope this helps- Good Luck

If you can afford it, the Bob Revolution duo jogger is the best. It is very easy to maneuver, you can push it with one hand while sipping a latte in the other. :) It also has an accessory attachment for infant car seats. It is great for tooling around the mall or jogging. The ones that are on top of each other seem kind of unfair to me for the child that ahs to sit on the bottom. And the single row doubles aren;t good for jogging. Good luck!

Combi: Twin Saavy. Awesome! Light, compact, folds 2 ways to get long and narrow for easy transport. with a strap to carry on shoulder...big enough for two...fits through very narrow doors, not bulky, company makes the car seat for use on infant's side for a nice car travel combo. with strap to secure seat...tried them all and we and toddler like this one the best. We love the Phil & Teds sport buggy with the doubles kit - pricy, but super easy to push and great for walking with.

I would suggest finding a used stroller if you don't want to spend too much money. We were given ours which is an evenflo with one seat infront of the other. Even though I had a Graco infant seat, it still worked with the stroller fine. I have three 2 and under and was able to push two in the stroller with one hand and pull a cart carrying my oldest with my other hand. It can get tricky, but I was able to maneuver it pretty well. I would go with a maclaren they are great. they recline, its a side be side, come's w/ a rain cover that snaps on, light weight, folds small, holds a high weight so you will definately get your use out of it.

If you are interested in getting exercise, get a double jogger stroller. Of course, it will seems like weight training at first, but I was able to take my kids out for a run on the streets, off-road hiking, jogging on the beach, and anywhere any front-to-back stroller was able to go, with the exception of stores with tight rows of merchandise, but never wanted to take two kids shopping in that kind of store anyway!

my kids are 23 mos apart - i borrowed my girlfriends duoglider for the first few months - b/c i wanted the baby in the carrier in the rear seat and with my oldest in the front it was easy to get her in and out - but wiht the heavier child in front the stroller was hard to push - and the fact that the duoglider was 40lbs. to begin with never mind adding a 25lb 2year old and an infant carrier (another 8lbs) and an 8-12 lb baby..... but it was great to try it out.

we got a sit and stand PLUS - this has full 2 seat as and then when your oldest is ready you can remove the rear seat to have the bench seat (and standing part). with this one the infant carrier has to be in the front - which is what i was originally didn't want (i was afraid of the carrier being bumped by strangers etc when in stores). but after getting this stroller it wasn't as bad aas i thought. with the carrier in front - you can still leave the canopy up to protect the baby. and my oldest loved it b/c now the baby was facing her - so she could lean in and talk to "her baby", fix his blanket, give him a toy etc..... when it is windy out i put a blanket over the carrier - and she would stick her head under too and talk to the baby. now they are 6 mos and 29 mos and we've taken the rear seat off - she uses the bench seat and the stand part - we call in "the train" and she can walk next to it for bit and then i say "hop on the train, it's leaving the station" she hops on no arguments etc.

also the sit n stand plus is only like 25lbs instaed of the 40lbs of the graco duoglider. it's still somewhat heavy but it's the lights of the doubles i've found out there.

Hey C., congrats on that new baby!!! my kids are 17 months apart, and let me warn ya -- it's hard!! But, WELL worth it!! I loved my single Graco stroller, so I chose the Graco duoglider - I purchased the one that did not have the carseat included, because I already had the "bucket" seat, just needed a stroller that would accomodate both a bucket and my todler. It was OK. they are not the easiest to stear, but they work. I stayed away from the side by side strollers because everyone told me they were difficult going through doorways. I did not find we used it very long, then I actually moved up to the sit-n-stand, I sold my duo to a friend who used it minimally. I know she is looking to sell it if you are interested (my friend lives in the Worcester area - I in the springfield area - we work together) let me know and I'm sure you could get a deal on it. I really like mine, and it wasn't very expensive. I got mine from walmart.com, but they don't sell it anymore (though they do have a large selection of other double strollers). You can find mine on amazon.com (it's a tandem); it's called the Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport All-Weather Umbrella Stroller. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has no place for storage.

I forgot to mention--both seats recline.

My son was 22 months when my second was born. Although it was pricey (I shopped around because the prices varied), I got and like the Combi Twin Savvy LX. It's a side by side that fits through regular doors. The seats don't recline quite all the way (even though the website says they do), but I found that with a blanket, the baby fit fine. I also used a front carrier with the baby and relied on my single stroller for my older son for a while. Some of the Combi stollers also let you put their infant carriers on them -I don't have one, so didn't try that part.

I like this stroller because even with the weight difference, it didn't pull to one side and it only weighs around 20-25 pounds with no kids. It doesn't have great baskets underneath and no cup holder for mom, but there are other places to store stuff.

I used it almost everyday during the spring, summer and fall last year around my neighborhood and it was a great way to get out of the house with the kids.

If you can borrow a stroller and a kid to try it out with, that might be a good bet. One thing I found when reading reviews of strollers is that for every one, a group loves them and a group hates them.

I have the combi tandem stroller. I use it for my son who is 15 months, and a baby I watch that is 8 months. I love how it looks, but it's hard to push around corners, the basket is really small and hard to get at, and the baby kicks the 15 month year old in front, and if I put the 15 month old in the back then he grabs at the babys feet and gets frusterated because he can't see over the car seat.

I have a double jogger - an older model that I love and it fits thru doorways no problem, but you can't snap in a car seat to it and it's hard to fit in the trunk :(

I hear combi makes a side by side stroller that you can put a car seat in. I may try that one next.

Let me know if you find one you love since I'm still on the search for the perfect one.

I, too, got the Phil and Ted's -didn't want a tandem - too hard to maneuver; didn't want a side by side - too hard to fit through doors. I LOVE MY stroller - was worth every penny. I bought a Graco double stroller when I had my son and used it a bit. In retrospect, I wish I had just used my front carrier for the first 6 months or so with my daughter in a single stroller and saved the money. Then gotten a really good, narrow double jogger. The tandem strollers are difficult to maneuver and the only real advantage is being able to use the car seat in it. There are a lot of really good baby carriers out there that can be used for infants and toddlers.

Hi C.- Not sure how much you want to spend on a stroller but I have the Phil and Ted double and absolutely love it! It is the one where the seat sits behind the other. It is the size of a single and has the wheels like a jogger. My older son sat in the back seat while the NB sat in her infant seat up front. When she is out of her infant seat I will switch them and my older son will ride up front. He loves the back, thinks it different and cool!

They are VERY expensive though. I bought mine used on Ebay. I payed $125 for the single and then bought the seat at joggingstroller.com. They are about $575 new for the double.

I got the greco dulie quattro. The baby snaps into the back. I found that when the baby was big enough to be out of the carrier, it worked best if she was in the front. Awesome stroller if you can fit it into your vehicle. Try it out at babies r us. Deb

The biggest problem i have had with a double stroller is using only one hand to drive it. That becomes necessary if you need to carry a drink or tray when you are at the food court.. or need to carry a screeching toddler out of the mall... it is also difficult to maniuver the stroller in hard to move places -- like between racks of clothing -- but then again it's also hard to manuver a single stroller as well.

I have foudn that if you put the weight on the front of the stroller it's easier to manage. I do have to say that it is a lifesaver. I have three.. all under three.... and i put the infant in the front and the older two in the back. I lay down the seat so they can kind of straddler each other.

a consignment shop might be a cheap way of getting one of these. I eneded up with two.. yep... two.. hand me downs..:)
