I'm feeling frustrated with the pediatrician and wondering if anyone out there has had better results with alternative medicine for their child. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Homeopathic medicine is wonderful. There are some excellent homeopaths in the area. Check out this website for referrals: http://nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org/

What are you trying to treat? Alternative medicine is a very large branch of medicine. I'm currently working on my MS degree in Holistic nutrition. Maybe I can help.

We sought a naturopath for our son when he was 3 while living in another state and had great results with diet and homepathic remedies. We now mostly self prescribe. I love the book Smart Medicine for Healthier Child which lists conventional and alternative treatments for symptoms. We hope to seek out a naturopath or a homeopath sometime.

Mostly I just treat what we know by visits to the health food store. Usually there is a wonderful book in the section with all the remedies that can guide you. For mystery illnesses, I will go to the doctor for diagnosis and then venture to the health food store for treatment products.

A Natureopath is great if it is in the budget, most insurance will not cover it.

If you know for sure what your child has, google it with the prefix: Alternative Medicine: and you may find your solution there. Good luck!
