I don't live in that area but I work right off of Denton Tap between Beltline & 635 and I can tell you the traffic during rush hour mornings and afternoons can be pretty busy on that road.
My husband and I are considering a move to a neighborhood in Coppell called Huntington Ridge. It's a self contained neighborhood off of Denton Tap. I'm wondering if there are families there with small children. Also, I'm wondering how traffic is on Denton Tap. I'm a little concerned that it will be difficult getting in and out of our neighborhood because of traffic (since Denton Tap is the only way in and out). It wasn't bad on the Sunday we were out there. I don't know about when school starts and ends. Any information you have is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you all for the advice. I think I will drive around the neighborhood this weekend and see if there are some people out that I can talk to.

I do live in Coppell and have kids that go to Town Center Elementary. Unless, they have redrawn lines, that is still where Huntington Ridge goes...and I give HUGE thumbs up to TCE. I have known people through the years with kids in that neighborhood, but don't know the current mix. My recommendation would be to drive through there on this coming cool Saturday and Sunday and see who is out in the neighborhood. Also...knock on a few doors and ask about the traffic getting in and out of the neighborhood. My experience is that there are peak times when traffic on Denton Tap is heavy...but it always moves.
Denton Tap traffic can be aweful. I used to work over there behind Hard 8 and when school started I avoid Denton Tap like the plaque. I would rather drive an extra couple of miles to go all the way down 121 before doing Denton Tap.
Beautiful city with a nice location (minus airport traffic) tho! I also advise if you've never lived near an airport not to discount that noise factor. Yes, the homes over there are nice BUT, just don't forget to consider that those planes fly very low over there. (I speak from experience when I advise this) and it makes a lot more difference than you might think.
That area us over near Sonic and the high school correct? I know that traffic when school starts and ends and during rush hour can be pretty busy and it's busy on Friday nights with the football games. I've never seen cars just sitting there waiting to turn and not being able to but I'm not I've paid that much attention either. My mom lives in Coppell and I grew up there so I know most of the neighborhoods pretty well. There is easy access to the high school if you plan on living there till your children go to high scoolwhich is nice but there is traffic on Denton Tap. Plus on game nights your probably going to be able to see the football stadium lights depending on what street you live on and which direction your windows face so if you have little kids you should keep that in mind as well. I don't know if there are kids in that particular neighborhood so I can't really help you there. Some things to consider... I haven't ever seen traffic so bad people can't get in or out of the neighborhood but there can be alot of traffic as many people use that road to go between Dallas and Denton and vice versa. Plus with the high school nearby any traffic during school hours can be heard though the area is blocked off to direct school traffic. Hope this helps and good luck! It's a great area if you decide to live there...my sisters and I all grew up there and enjoyed the area for the most part:)
