I was told that any month that you spot you are at risk of becoming pregnant. As soon as this happened to me, I took two pills at a time, and saw my doctor ASA who put me on higher dose pills. That stopped the spotting, and risk, problems.
Hello fellow moms! So I'm taking Lo Estrin birth control and have been for about 9 months. Sometimes if I forget to take a pill or take it late, I usually spot and I did that this month. But this time, the flow is alot heavier and has gone on alot longer. Have any of you ever taken this birth control and had this happen? Also, I have been feeling weak I guess from the blood loss, is there anything I can take or eat to get my iron levels back up?
Thanks so much ladies!

I would recommend having your iron level tested. I used to have trouble with heavy bleeding, and had low iron, so my doctor wanted me to start taking iron supplements. She has me get my blood tested every 3 months so I don't take more than I need.
I think you should call the ObGyn that prescribed the pill, and tell him/ her what has been going on with your flow- and request an iron level check.
I know exactly what you mean about feeling week. Iron helped me a lot.
Best wishes!! =o)
It sounds like maybe you skipped enough pills to ovulate. I've taken LoEstrin for over a year before and have been back on it for three months now. The only time I ever have a problem like that is when I skip several pills.
Vitamin C taken with iron will help. You may want to ask you GYN about a different kind of hormonal birth control.
Is Lo Estrin compareable to the "mini pill"? While I was on that my period was always screwy. I had a few months when I had my period twice and it was really heavy. Then I had times when I'd go 6-8 weeks between my periods.
