Hello Everyone!

I'm trying to make vocabulary flashcards on my computer. I know how to make them in Microsoft Word by setting up columns, etc. I also know that I can print them on labels and stick the labels on index cards. But what I'm really looking for is a software program that will let me make flashcards and print them. I don't want online flashcards. Is there even such a thing? I've been looking online and have had no luck. I'd prefer something I can use on my Mac. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just wanted something easy. I'd even love any templates that anyone has used in the past. Thanks!

I teach college part-time, and one site I recommend is www.flashcardexchange.com. You can do them online OR print them. It's web browser based so no need to download anything. You can also share them with others or import info easily from other programs to create them. Good luck!

I know you said no online flash cards. But they should be exactly what you need. Some of the teacher sites have flash cards that are "open construction" and you can take their formatting and simply add or overwrite.

Also, you didn't mention your childs age, but for K-2, you should look for the Dolce words in a flash card format. Save you tons of time as that list is what they need to know for strong reading skills.

Sorry I can't help to much, but I'd love to hear what others have to say. I do remember seeing a website ( good thing I saved it-) This one has alphabet flash cards. Maybe it'll show you how? http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com/2010/08/alphabet-flash...

Here is another site to try-- not to sure on it, but it looked promising. Sorry I can't be of more help, but my six month old just woke up!

I bought Avery Post Cards #3380 and used the Word format for Post cards and then printed them. It is similar to making mailing labels but in a postcard format. You get 4 per page and you can make as many as you like,

hi!
Not sure if you came across these sites in your search. The sites say you can make printable flash cards:
http://www.kitzkikz.com/flashcards/
http://www.scholastic.com/kids/homework/flashcards.htm
these sites have pre-made flash cards you can print:
http://www.mes-english.com/flashcards.php
http://www.esl-kids.com/flashcards/flashcards.html

last, it looks like Mac has a program called "flashcard suite" I don't know anything about it (I don't have a mac) ... fyi when i looked on-line several websites had a warning from Norton Antivirus so only look into downloading from a website you know such as the mac website

GOOD LUCK!! :0)

Since you don't want the online flash card your best bet is to stick with making them on the word program and printing them on card stock paper and cutting them out.
