So What Happened?

My duagther and I just came back from seeing a nutriouness. And the news was, that she was sligthly overweight for her age and height. Her iron intake is borader line of being too low. My duagther is a picky eater, so I was wondering how I could get more vitamins in her diet.

I think trying to prevent every sniffle or sneeze is going to make them sicker in the long run. They need to be exposed to some stuff to learn to fight it off. My DD washes her hands after a potty stop. That's about it (unless they're dirty). We don't do sanitizer. No vitimins. She goes outside all the time, plays with kids (even the ones with runny noses), licks the shopping cart (OK, even I think that is nasty) but in the end, she's never sick. She learned to fight the stuff. Good luck! :)

You can eat well, wash your hands, take all the supplements you want and you wills till get sick. Your immune system can go down without you knowing it for many reasons. Just because your clean and fit/healthy doesnt make you immune. So get off that idea to begin with.

My kids use hand sanitizer a lot. We wash hands and we have our vitamins but its only to keep them healthy its not a cure just a precaution.

If you really want something, use slaine wash in their nose daily.

I used to use the Enfamil liquid vitamins. You could find them at Wal-Mart...I would get the ones with the iron in them. As far as I know about airborne germs, just try to keep their hands out of their mouths and proper hand washing.

We gave our son Poly-vi-sol. However, this is not a substitute for a healthy diet. She needs to eat more green leafy veggies to increase the iron (hide them in things she does like), and needs a well-rounded diet with fruits and veggies. Good luck!

Not sure about liquid vitamins (can she do a chewable or gummy vitamin?), but I've heard that getting enough vitamin D (more than the "minimum RDA"!) reduces or eliminates getting colds, flu, viruses, etc.
