Preschool Ideas

I was wondering if anyone knew of good preschools in the area that are reasonably priced. I have one option but a very slim chance my daughter will get in, so I wanted as many other options as possible. I know it's kind of late to start thinking about it, I just didn't realize how long we would be living in the area. Also, any good schools in the area?
Thanks.

Magic Years in Reseda is the best that I have ever experienced. Their teachers have been there for 16-30years...Truely a magical place! It is hard to get into, but worth inquiring. Also, I have heard good things about St.Bernadines in Woodland Hills. It was my second choice. Good Luck!

Hi J.,

Centers of Learning, located in North Hills, is a FABULOUS preschool! My daughter, who just turned 4, is enrolled there and loves it! It is a private school that is preschool through 12th grade, so if you love it for preschool and pre-k, you have the option to keep her there for the rest of her schooling if you choose. My son, who is now 7 and my oldest daughter, now 9 also go to school there and started when they were in preschool. I am very happy with the school. I am pretty sure there is no waiting list. I do not think they offer a 2 or 3 day schedule, however, I think only a Monday-Friday option. You do have the option of half-day or full-day, however. If you want to stop by for a free tour, call and ask for an appt. with the preschool director (who is also the kindergarten teacher) Mrs. Margo. The number is ###-###-####. The rates are affordable, compared to other preschools, which can be very pricey! Good luck!

J., My son Aidan currently attends Christian Nursery School in Studio Ciy at Colfax and Moorpark. He goes Tu/Thurs afternoons. If you start afternoons you will have no problem getting in. 12:30 to 3PM is our schedule. I really like the structure and the teachers. We pay 163.00 pr month. M. Kislan Valley Village

What area of the valley? My kids all went to The Boulevard School in Woodland Hills. I've/they've been very happy there. It's also a summer camp and is where my son learned to swim. My twins go there now and LOVE their teachers. Some others in the area are Woodland Hills Private School (there are 2 of them... the "regular" one and the Farm school). If you want something with more of a religious base there is Temple Aliyah and St. Bernadines. THere's also a Montessori School in West HIlls. I've heard mixed reviews about Pinecrest, but not every school is for everyone. Hope that helps.

Church of the Chimes is a very sweet preschool at Hazeltine and Moorpark and about the best price going.
Also try the one at Moorpark and Colfax. The name escapes me now, but a lot of my friends have gone there and love it. Oh! I know, First Christian.
Don't let the names fool you, they are not heavy on religion.
Good Luck!
It's a great time for you both:)

Hello, Not sure where you are in the Valley but my daughter attends Canyon Vista Preschool in Chatsworth and I have been VERY happy with them. I checked out 12 schools prior to putting her there and actually tried a Montessori that I was unhappy with. Canyon Vista has been WONDERFUL and my 4 year old is actually reading now and loving every minute of it. I feel like they are reasonably priced for the area. Good luck!

I don't know where you live, but Kirk of the Valley is a great school! My son has been going there since he was 18 months old (in the Tot center) and transitioned to preschool when he was older. It is a wonderful school! It is in Reseda, on Vanowen just east of Corbin Ave. Good luck!
