I take my son (he'll be 3 on Monday) to Premier Learning Academy on Riggs/McQueen. I have been so happy with his experience there. Prior to having my son, I was an elementary school teacher for 7 years, so it was a really hard decision for me. I feel that PLA provides a great environment with a good balance of playtime and learning. He can count to thirty, knows all of his shapes, colors, letters, and numbers. He loves to go there which makes it a lot easier for me to drop him off on MWF mornings for 3 hours. Good luck with your search! Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. By the way, I think they have a website you can check out.

My kids go/went to Sunny Days Preschool on Chandler Blvd and Dobson (NW corner). We've been going there for 7 years and love it. We moved to Gilbert 6 years ago and go out of our way to take our kids there. I currently have a 2.5 year old attending. It's a family owned business and they do it because they love what they do. The rates are very competitive too. The preschool is very good, my 7 year old was very prepared for kindergarten. If you go, tell them Laurie Barnett sent you. Good luck.

We love Bright Horizons at the ASU Research Park - Elliot and the 101 in Tempe.
They are a NAEYC certified center and really focus on education. My daughter is under 3 and knows all her letters, colors, shapes, etc. They also run with a smaller ratio then almost every center in town so your children get more attention. My daughter started there when she was 3 months old. They do water play twice a week this time of year and get out for a walk around the pond about twice a month. She loves it there and never has fussed about going in the morning. It is an excellent facility! My 2 month old twins will be starting there in a few weeks. It is about 5 miles out of my way since I changed jobs last year, but did not even consider moving my daughter to another center.

Please let them know that S. Standke sent you if you go and check them out. The administration is April Slater, Ke Singleton and Christy Morton, but other teachers and staff also answer the phone and greet people at the front desk.
