Pregnancies Vs. Child Personalities

I am just curious. I have two boys with very different personalities. My easy-going son was a rougher pregnancy, and my more challenging son was a very easy pregnancy. I've asked a few of my friends and family members with children and it seemed to go the say way for them also. I would be interested to hear how things panned out for you.

What can I do next?

To be honest I do not think that there is any correlation between the two. My son was a great baby and is still a sweet and easy going child, my pregnancy was easy. I have a friend whose pregnancy was horrid and her daughter was a fussier baby, very sweet, but very much wanting to voice her opinion when things didn't work out her way. I think every child and every pregnancy is different and that the pregnancy has nothing to do with their personality, which is what determines if they are easy going or fussier.

My first Michaela( or Lala 3 years old) the pregnancy was easy not too sick not many problems delivered 3 wks early 7 lbs 10 oz. Lala was a very demanding baby up every 2 hours very sick has had two surgeries already by the time she was 2. My 2nd pregnancy with my son Coleton (19months) horrible was super sick had Pregnancy Induced Hypertension was retaining water like crazy, went into the hospital 4 times with heavy contractions only to have them stop a couple hours after being there. Coleton was born a week or two early depending on which due date I went by ( they had four or five of them). He was born 9lbs 14 1/2 oz , he was a very quite and content baby never cried. Very well natured.

There is no science behind that thought, I'm afraid. I had an easy pregancy and delivery and my child is quite easy to take care of with an easy, pleasant personality. I think they might have mentioned something about this in What to Expect When you're expecting. I know they stated that how high or low you carry has nothing to do with which sex baby you'll deliver.

I find it fascinating that no one else mentioned how our astrological signs affect our personalities. Granted, I know many people dismiss it, but usually w/o much understanding, and they usu. say that if their sun sign personality doesn't fit, then it doesn't work. You have to look at the complete profile b4 you dismiss it, and usu. when people see their complete profile, they find that it fits. Mind you, I'm extremely scientific as well - I used to be a physics major. This is in part why I DO support the concept- but I won't get into all that here.

You didn't say which child is which, but I'm guessing your older child is the more challenging one because if I guessed right by you saying he's "almost 5" - then that means he is an Aries Horse. Of course I don't know his moon or rising sign, but Arians demand being in charge & are very bad at following others. Equally, the Horse (Chinese astrology) needs plenty of room to roam, and want freedom & independence, while at the same time wanting love & intimacy, which leads them to often feel trapped. Likely to be perpetually on the go, witty & spirited. Brillant but rash, dauntless and impatient.

Your 3-yr old is either a Sheep if born early in Jan. 2004 or a Monkey if the rest of the year. If a sheep, he enjoys peace & being artistic & daydreaming, and needs lots of love. If a Monkey, he'll be more of.. a monkey! The original party animal, charming, energetic, and very accident prone. My little brother (now 27) is a Monkey & he was very much like this, but also a little doll. He got totally spoiled b/c of how sweet he was. (But very cunning!)

Anyhow, all of this is overridden by their Sun sign (outward nature), Moon sign (inward nature) & Rising Sign (strong add'tl influence). I'm curious - am i even close?

If you wish, you can send me their birthdays (incl. time of day) & I can tell you 3 of their signs (sun, moon & chinese yr). I can't do Rising b/c you have to be able to do complete charts to get & I don't know how to do that (yet). I can send you links to free text about each & you can see for yourself.

btw, I'm a Gemini sun, Leo Moon, Saggitarius rising, Wood Rabbit.
Peace!

Mine are the opposite - my pregnancies with my 10 y/o and almost 3 y/o were both very easy - both are laidback, easy boys. My 16 month old on the other hand has always been a challenge and he was my difficult pregnancy. So far my pregnancy with #4 has been pretty easy so I'm hoping for another easy one, but I'm only 13 wks so there is plenty of time for things to change...

Hi O.,
My son is only 6 month old but my pregnancy was very rough I had a SCH (sub chrionic hemorrhage), very tired and morning sickness in the beginning. Very bad swelling, plus last summer was very hot. Then in the last four weeks I had the PUPP rash, 100 times worse than poison ivy! I said that will be our last child after the rash. Then I had a very scary birth experience and couldn't have any pain meds, not even an epidural after being induced. I will eventually have another child but if I do get the rash again, that will be it. It was the worst experience in my life. I couldn't get any sleep because all I wanted to do was scratch and there isn't much doctors can give you without some risk to the baby, so you have to choose you or the baby. Of course I made it that far I wasn't going to take anything to put my baby at risk. Well all that paid off because he is an angel!!! Slept through the night at 8 weeks, goes to bed easily. Rarely cries, he is not fussy at all. He is a doll and a joy! I couldn't have asked for a better son. We will see if he stays that way as he grows.

My first daughter was the easiest pregnancy and child birth in the world, and she is very easygoing and a great listener very well developed and smart. My son however was the hardest pregnancy of anyone I know he would kick so hard he would bruise me and he took everything out of me morning sickness, cramps, everything I could not sleep at all and he is the mischievious child he is a tough cookie. He is now 2 yrs old and I have a tough time with him. My third child was a girl and she was not as hard as my son during pregnancy and yet not nearly as easy as my first daughter but she is obviously not the easiest but she is no way in comparison as hard as my son was. He had colic and cried 24/7 the only thing that consoled him was either being held all the time or if u would put him in his car seat and swing it back and forth. No a swing did not work. But I will say that I don't think the pregnancy really reflects the outcome of the child. I am constantly in for suprises with my kids. I will say my first child was the very easiest tho. She slept 13 hrs a night from the day she was born. She is now 5 and still does.

The same went for me. My 4 year old is so full of live and very energetic with a mind of her own. She's stubborn. Just the other day she told her dad and I "why don't you people just leave me alone and let me do what I wanna do. Let me be naughty and quit telling me to be good" I had the best pregnancy with her and also delivery, the whole thing took 5 1/2 hours and 3 pushes. My youngest on the other hand was a rough pregnancy, a lot of morning and evening sickness. Every single test they ran had to be redone. I can go on and on. Now she's the best baby, she never cries unless something is really wrong. When she gets a dirty diaper she'll just look at you and smile. So I will agree with your posting.

See now with my 1st pregnancy it was GREAT didnt even feel like I was pregnant. The labor was 18 hours and 3 hours of pushing it was HORRIBLE, 6lbs 15oz 19 inches!!! Lucas is now 4 years old, he has been a monster since 9 months when he started to walk. But now he is starting tone down. Now with Natalee's pregnancy, who is 2 years old, it was (excuse me) H*LL! I was soo sick through out it all, had varicose veins in my wahoo dilly and was induced early b/c of her size! Broke my water at 9 am, started pitocin at 11am, nothing until 5pm until the wall of contractions hit me and she was born at 6:49pm no epidural, 8lbs 5 oz 21 1/4 ichecs . She is an ANGEL, respectful, sleeps well, PERFECT!!!!! So maybe there is a little bit to do with pregnancies.... Just thought I would share my stories. I do belive there might be something to do with it....

We have a lot in common, I also work part time in an office and have my own photography business. Anyways, I have one daughter whos 3 and one on the way. My daughter was a hard labor and she is a good girl. I'm hoping I get as lucky with my second one. I always hear, "you always one good one and one rebellious one" I'm hoping thats not always true.

I have two girls. My oldest was a very difficult pregnancy. I lost 20lbs due to morning sickenss. Cassie is very quiet and shy. My second daughter Claire is a little devil. I did have some morning sickness with her too and she was breech. But all together it was a better pregnancy and I had a c section. Their personalities are like nite and day. As I write this Claire is trying to climb the outside of her toybox. Got to go!
