Hi K.,
Davie Park on Hwy 51 between Rea and Providence is nice.
It has a big area and lots of stuff to climb on / run through.
Does anyone know of a fun playground in the Charlotte area? We are on the southeast side, but are willing to drive.

There is a terrific park/playground in the Matthews area. It is called Colonel Francis J. Beatty park and it is located off Weddington-Matthews Road. It has a great playground area with really nice equipment as well as picnic areas, a volleyball area (lots of kids use it as a giant sandbox), a big pond with paddleboats, fishing areas, and more. It is definitely worth checking out! Here is a link for you to check it out:

We live in Mint Hill and there are a few great ones around. There is the Park on Wilgrove Mint Hill Road-- I believe it is called The Park on Wilgrove. Also, there is Idlewilde Park and Rec on Idelwilde Road-- some of it is under construction -- which means new equipment-- but a large portion is good to use-- plus-- has lots of shade!

Yes, Wilgrove Mint Hill PArk On Wilgrove Mint Hill road near Truelight Church is great. Fairview is also nice. Wilgrove is more treed with a walking path and fields. Fairview is more open near the play areas but has a cover during hot months. There is also a trail through the woods there to walk. Many Moms groups meet at both parks. I live in Mint Hill so I frequent those parks too.
