The maternal wellness center in Mount Airy has support groups (including new moms)and a baby and me yoga class. Yes it's Philly proper, but it's NW :). They have a website with all the info.
Does anyone know of any sort of baby gym or play group in delaware county (or any philly suburb really)? We seriously need to get out and meet some other moms/babies around here.

My son and I attend the My Gym in Springfield, it's alot of fun and they have all different classes throughout the week that are age appropriate.
Springfield Library has drop in baby story hours each week as do some of the other libraries in the area. There is a Little Gym in Springfield. You could also check out www.momsclub.org
hello!
i have also been looking for other moms and babies to get together with. i have a nine almost 10 month old baby girl, madeleine. i am 27, also working from home during the week. my husband is 31 and is a lead carpenter for a local company. we just moved here at the end of october and we are living in chestnut hill philadelphia for this year while we check out the area and decidde where we want to live permantly. so if you want to meet sometime and take the babies for a walk or to the zoo or museum, i would love to.
next sunday, i am meeting two other moms with their babies that i also met on mamasource. feel free to join us if you want, though we will most likely be meeting around here somewhere because they live close to me.

Try Healthplex Gym in Springfield (Associated with Springfield Hospital). They have a great "Mom's in Motion program". There is a struttin stroller class that meets several times a week and parent tot swim class. The instructors are fabulous. I don't believe you need to be a member of the Healthplex gym to participate. I think you can pay per class.
There is an indoor tot lot in media, not too far away. it's free and a nice place to go when it's cold outside. You can contact the township to find out exactly where it is.
try the little gym...we loved it...the one we went to is in abington but there may be one more local for you...just check their website...also try your local YMCA...they have parent child classes but they tend to fill quickly...have fun :)
Check out Romp n' Roll - they recently opened a location in Willow Grove. They have gym, art, and music classes for kids from babies to prechoolers. www.rompnroll.com/willowgrove
I have an 8 month old daughter and know exactly how you feel! It helps so much to get out of the house, meet some other moms and give your baby an activity once or twice a week. We go to Gymboree in King of Prussia once a week, which is fun. They have a 6-10 month old class and then a 10-16 month old class, so every mom in your group is going through similar things. They have activities to help the babies achieve developmental milestones (crawling, standing up, etc.) and while the babies are "playing" the group leader introduces topics for the moms to chat about.
We also signed up for Sally's Music Circle a few months ago and love it. Their infant - 3 yr class is great, and there are lots of mom's with children of various ages to talk to. If you live near Wayne, let me know - we just signed up for the Spring class that starts March 1 in their Wayne location.
