The homeopathic remedy Cina 30c worked when my son had them. You should be able to get it at any health food store.

Grated fresh coconut or grated fresh carrots and crushed garlic. Mix this up in applesauce or yogurt (yobaby). Preferably yogurt. Wash everything, sheets, pillows, blankets and make sure everyone in the house washes their hands w/soap & water.

I teach Kindergarten and got them last year. I know gross, yuck, eww! I am a great hand washer but somehow still got them after all these years in the classroom. I went to the doctor and she wanted to be safe and treat the whole family because the eggs are so hard to get rid off. We washed everything in hot water. She treated my whole family with 1 pill taken after the apt and a 2nd pill taken two weeks later. They were pink chewable pills that were chalky flavored. My 3 year old had no problem chewing and swallowing the pill and had no side effects from it.

Get out your flashlight! :) The worms sometimes appear at night when they are sleeping, so sneak in a dark bedroom and take a peek!

Look in her stools too for tell tale wrigglers?

They are so common that your doc may treat without a test...that being said, she could just be itchy. Apply some aloe or calendula and see if that helps. Does the itchiness increase at night or upon waking? Probably worms.

Good luck!

I had them as a child, that they think I got from eating horse food. I was told to wash my hands very well and good hygiene will get rid of them, since i was told that you re-infect yourself from getting the eggs on your hands and consuming them again, almost like how animals get worms from the fleas. Worked for me and I never got them again !

These are super common (as are round worms)... the last CDC study I read said that over 2/3s of playgrounds test positive for the eggs of both. Ironically the population with the HIGHEST untreated infestation rate is the Middle Class Sub-urban group. ((Farm kids tend to be dosed twice a year, and inner city kids are dosed fairly regularly... but for some reason the 2.5 kids and a dog families -at highest risk, because of the dog and the playgrounds they go to... just aren't being treated for them. I often wonder how much of an impact they have in childhood obesity, since they cause kids to be CONSTANTLY hungry)).

Natural remedies for pin and round worms frequently take years to actually take effect. An antiparisitical though, is a 1 or 2 pill dose over 24 - 48 hours. Easy as pie, and VERY effective. Diahhreah is common if there was a large infestation.

My kids had them once. You could actually look at the anus opening and see tiny things that looked like white pieces of lint or white strings. But if you looked close enough they'd be moving! Grossssssss!
The doctor gave us a Rx - gone - no big deal!

Hi J.,

Take her to the ped right away, there is no natural way and they can re-occur.

Blessings....

try some prune juice, if they are in there they will come back. but does she show any other signs such and eating more or vomiting? complaints of stomach achs? also if you look at her poop(i know thats gross) you will see lil ones in there, just like looking in dogs poop when they are rubbing on the floor. also my three year old is doing that as well but its usually a sign that she needs to go to the bathroom.
