So What Happened?

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED! I basically brought what everyone suggested and it was very useful! We started using things from our "kit" before the rehersal dinner. It was a life saver and I was so glad I put it together.

needles and thread... soda water, tums, crackers, or whatever works in case the bride gets an upset stomach... allergy medicine (if applicable... who wants to get married with itchy eyes?) One of those stain-erasing pens things (I think Tide makes them...)

Stuff I needed: Food. No food and alcohol made me sickish. Cake did not help. Yuck. I also needed someone to tell me when to go pee. By the time I realized I needed to go it was an emergency, yes you need to go hold up her dress for her.

Stuff I never did have time for: Base, concealer, powder, perfume, deodorant, hair touch ups, or nail polish. I did hit the lipstick right before the second round of pics but that's as far as it got. If this is something important to her you are going to have to tell her to go freshen up and then make her leave because she will be real busy chatting and saying thanks and making introductions and doing all of the bide things she has to do.

Things I wish I had thought of: Fresh panties/pantyhose (not trying to be gross but with the dancing and standing and nerves I felt less than fresh when I went to change into my going away clothes. I'm just saying), comfortable dancing shoes, my own disposable camera, bottled water/snack in our car for when we left.

As for all of the other things I think there are some great things listed already. Make the medicines and water and bathroom breaks your top priority. Follow that up with things to repair clothing snafus, and good luck!

How nice of you to think of that for your friend! I wish I had a personal attendant at my wedding...I did during the reception but during the actual ceremony, no.

From my experience: I say of course makeup for touchups (mascara, eyeliner, gloss or lipstick, foundation, oilblotting papers, evian spray to freshen up the face, baby wipes to quickly remove makeup, basically the whole kit to redo the face if needed), hairpins and comb/brush to freshen up hair, hairspray, perfume, breathmints, those little toothbrush things they make now for quick freshen ups, antiperspirant that is clean and leaves no streaks, small towels for freshening up, pantiliners, (if she is wearing hose) replacement hose, a second nice comfy pair of shoes, stain remover pens, white chalk (if the stain can't come off and you are desperate, at least you can cover it temporarily and the dress can be dry cleaned later). What else? A camera to capture everything! That is all I can think of.

I should also mention a small sewing kit.

I was just in a wedding last weekend and we had a kit that had lip gloss, lip liner, eyeliner, oil blotting papers for removing excess oil from the face (love those), Kleenex, bobby pins, breath mints, sponge applicators and face powder. I also brought safety pins, deodorant, perfume, and extra make-up. Oh and don't forget the champagne!

SAFETY PINS!!!! All sizes... Hey those toliet seat liners found in public rest rooms make great for make-up blotting taking off the sweat and extra oil in between photos. The shade of lip stick she is wearing. Nail glue and an extra pair of nylons. Also someone needs to carry the ballet slippers. Tissue and a bottle of water. Many brides forget to stay hydrated, which makes them get forgetful, cranky, sick and drunk faster..... Also do not forget Bobby Pins for when those curls fall and you have to fake it... Make sure someone takes a twin sheet too. When she puts on and takes off the dress, place this on the floor to protect it. Have FUN!
