I had concerns about giving my now 7 month old daughter all the recommended vaccines with my old pediatrician. I feel they are important just didn't want her to receive so many at once, my pediatrician wouldn't even recommend which ones to delay. Dr. Sears alternative schedule goes against the normal recommendations for the Academy of Pediatrics view of a vaccine schedule. So it is important you find a pediatrician who understands your concerns and will let you do what you feel is best for your child. They should be there to guide you in making the best decision for their vaccines. With that said I, I left my old pediatrician due to not only feeling like they weren't listening to my conerns, but also because they were unwilling to have an open mind to alternative ways of doing things including the treatment of my daughter's torticollis. Through exploring other therapies for that I found a doctor in Canal Winchester who is right up my alley. She is not a pediatrician per se but a family physicians who treats everyone. She is very open to different vaccine schedules. I took her Dr. Sears' schedule and didn't feel like I would be condemmed because I didn't want all the vaccines they recommended. There are some that I want for my daughter that she doesn't carry or give in her office. But I have the options of getting them done at the Dept of Health or going elsewhere for them. It would be a drive from Westerville, but it may be worth checking her out. She practices Holistic medicine and acupuncture, but is open to traditional medicine if the alternatives don't work. Her name is Dr. Teresa Quinlin. Hope this helps.
