Last summer we built a roof over our backyard patio. We do get shade but in the summer the west sun comes into about half of the patio making it unbearable to be under it. I was wondering if anyone had the roll up/down shades for the patio. I looked online (Home Depot and other sites) and saw there is a wide variety. I want something that can withstand some wind because it is usually windy at my house. Please let me know any suggestions. Thanks.
I am interested in answers too! We put a roof over our patio too and I have been thinking about getting some of those roll up bamboo shades. I need something wind and water proof as they will stay outside all the time. I dont plan to take them down during the winter, but maybe just keep them rolled up. Has anyone gone the bamboo shade way? or is there a more durable material out there?
WE got a big pc of lattice fencing and had it up on our deck to block sun. maybe something like that with some brackets would work. My girlfriend put up a rod across hers and got some very light curtains which she has on rings. they are pulled back and held at the corners when its nice but if its too bright she puts them down and they block the sun (think along the lines of those screened in cabana type things.)
Frontgate has outdoor curtains you can easily hang. They're not expensive either.
