I am going in on March 5 to have a partial Vagenectomy. I had a total hysterectomy five years ago and some of the endometriosis got left behind. So now I have to have this other procedure. I am scared and was wondering if anyone out there has had this?

T., I had to have a complete hysterectomy when 26 due to endometriosis. I have had no problems since then. I am also a nurse and have seen this in many women. The procedures for removal are usually 100% successful. I would not worry about it too much. I will pray for your speedy recovery. E.

I am sorry to hear about your continues problems. I have no advice for you ,but will ask you for some? Did you have your hysto. because of endo.? I have asked that exact ? myself and have been assured that once everything is gone , the endo. will be gone too! So, now your endo. is effecting your vagina?? Does that mean they are taking apart of your vagina away? Wow... I am so sorry for your continued worries. I would appreciate any info. /advice you could give. Good luck to you!!!

hey T., yes that would be very scarey- especially going into it not knowing a whole lot about it. I would definately pursue more information if you are uneasy about having this done. To me, it is your dr.s job to give you all information, pro/cons, of this entire procedure and explain it until you are fully aware of whats going on at a level YOU are comfortable with. I have found sometimes you have to push back on these dr.s to get all the information.

the only real "suggestion" I have is to ck out webmd.com this is a site I have gone to pretty often with healh questions.

take care and god bless,
J.
