I took my kids to a wonderful Home Depot workshop this weekend. I was told the paint they had for them to use was washable. It is not! My daughters brand new pants have pink and red paint and my sons shirt has blue on it. I have washed them twice and put spray n wash on them and soaked them. It isnt coming out. Any miracle paint removers out there???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Nothing has worked! It hasnt even gotten lighter. I hate to be a complainer but am defintely going to call Home Depot and let them know not to use this paint again. Had I known we were even using paint I would have had them dress differently. It was our first time doing one of these workshops though. You live and learn.

I would call Home Depot tomorrow and talk to the manager. Tell him what happened and what you were told about the paint. If he won't authorize replacements for your children's clothes maybe he will know how to remove the paint.

You could also email the corporate office and explained what happened.

Is this paint, "adult" house paint or children's paint? I have seen a product in the grocery store in the same area as detergents, etc. in a bottle that identified it's self as a paint remover. I haven't used it.

If you've dried the clothes I am nearly certain you won't be able to get it out.

I think I've removed washable markers from clothes by soaking them in Oxy Clean. I'm not sure tho. It's been years.

I soak clothes in Oxi Clean. Hot water and the Oxi, and I keep making up fresh batches for days until the stain is out. One time my son left an ink pen in his shirt pocket, and since he had just started a new job, the whole load was brand new dress shirts. I took one shirt to the dry cleaners to see if they could get it out, and they were not able to. I started soaking the shirts, and it all came out!!! I was amazed! Only one shirt had a small spot that wouldn't come, but it was right at the hem, and wouldn't show.
