PAINT THE CEILING FIRST!!!!!!! wait til it dries then put painters tape up so you don't mess it up with the roller - although the roller should NEVER go all the way to the top - that should be for BRUSHES only!!!
I just bought new paint for my living room. A warmy yellow color. I'm thinking I may want to paint the ceiling also. Is it better to paint the ceiling before the walls or vise versa? At one end of the room (over the stairway) the ceiling is on an angle.
Yes the ceiling is white. I was worried that it may drip down the walls so I will do them last I guess.

We always do the ceilings first. (Well, my husband does, b/c I'm not "allowed" to paint -- too much in a hurry!)
Always paint ceiling first. That way if you splatter, it won't get on the walls you've already painted. :)
You may want to make the ceiling white-if not-do it first anyway-it is the most difficult. But if you do the walls first-then you will see how nice the contrast is with the white ceiling-assuming it is white!
with colored paint i would do the ceiling first, the pain kind of speckles and you dont want that to fall on your new yellow walls.
You paint the ceiling first. It is virtually impossible to completely avoid splattering from the ceiling onto the walls.
