Painful Periods After Tube Tie

I had my tubes tied 3 years ago and was wondering if having my tubes tied made my periods hurt worse than ever. It almost makes me feel as if my insides are gonna burst or fall out when I use the bathroom when I have my period. Is this normal?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank You to all who gave me insight. I have always had issues with my female parts, so this comes as no surprise. I have had numerous surgeries and enough kids that I wanted to have all my "PARTS" removed but they said I was too young. So I guess pain and little surgeries with have to be the answer for now. Thank you again. I am glad I am not alone, but saddened that there is so many of us.. Have a GREAT day.

I haven't noticed any changes at all....sorry! ITs been almost three years for me too and everything is the same as it was pre-kids. Might be time for a check up with the OBGYN.

I had my tube tied years ago and never had that kind of problem. Call the Dr. something is wrong.

Time to see the OBGYN. I have the same syptoms. After months of painful cycles (some so bad I sat in a chair and cried for hours) I called my dr. Since her office is 3 hours away she ordered an ultrasound of my "parts". They found small cysts on my overies. I have to have them checked in a few weeks. Now that I know what it is and to expect the pain... I am dealing better. No one ever tells us how truely hard this woman thing is...

Hi there!

I thought I'd better respond because I had the very same thing happen to be after my tubal. You're not crazy, my obgyn said she can't even count how many women come in complaining of this, but there are no really studies to prove the relationship. I had an ablasion done and I will never look back--best thing I ever did. Basically, they cauterize the lining of the uterus in same day surgery and you are pretty much back to normal the next day. 50% of women have no period and 50% have significantly reduced periods (just spotting). I know a few other women who have had this same procedure, all of them glad they did. Just thought I'd share, because the periods I was having were affecting my life way too much!

Good luck!

Hi M., I don't know if it's normal or not but I had mine tied about 16 months ago and I feel your pain. I was always a light one (maybe one heavy day at first), now I am buying the overnights and supers and I am shocked. I know bodies change after birth but geez, I've had three. Anyway I wanted you to know you are not alone. Hang in there..

M., I had my tubes tied almost 3 years ago (after my 3rd child) and my periods are normal. BUT a year and a half ago I was having very painful and heavy periods. I was very distraught. We did many tests and found nothing. But now it is back to normal. I believe the changes in my period were not due to my tubes being tied, but possibly my hormones shifting with age. I am 36 yrs old. Don't know if this helps, but just wanted to share my information.
