sounds like you need a stool softner. Sufak over the counter is best. Sounds like when you lay down everything else starts moving. If that does not help...go to the doctor.

This may sound silly, but could it be simple (but painful) gas? Just one gasX will do the trick if that is the case. If not, go get your urine checked for infection. The next stage in testing for Kidney or Gal bladder stones. I had my gal bladder removed 6 months after having my son, but my pain was much higher up than what you are describing. Sounds more like possible kidney stones if it isn't something simple like gas or bladder infection.

Sounds like a possible female infection. You should see your OB doctor.

Hi G.,

Let me say that I think you should go to the Doctor, don't try to self diagnose this kind of pain. I am not trying to scare you but I have a friend who thought she had indigestion and after a full week the pain became so overwhelming she finally went to the hospital only to find out she was having a heart attack, they immediately went to work on her. Please know that I am not trying to scare you but symptoms of heart attack are different for women than they are for men & age is not always a factor we're in our 30's. Please see a doctor about your pain. If it turns out to be acute indigestion then better safe than sorry. As soon as I saw your post I thought of my friend. I implore you to see a doc if the pain persists.

Go to the Doctor, it could be a multitude of things. I had similar pain and it ended up being that my colon was all "twisted up like a pretzel" (my doctor's words). I ended up having to have a colonoscopy to make sure nothing else was wrong, and they untwisted my colon (painless procedure, though the prep was horrid). Good luck!

I'm not sure and you would need to check with your doctor, but it sounds like the pain my friend had when her appendix was inflamed and about to burst. Her pains started out as stomach pains, then felt like gas pains, then went down and to the left of her stomach. That is the location where your appendix is and classic signs/symptoms of appendicitis (sp?).
If this sounds like your pain symptoms, I'd have it checked out immediately because you do not want your appendix to burst (very painful.)
Good luck and I hope everything works out,
K.

I'm not a doctor, but I have had many medical problems. Could it possibly be a kidney stone? I have two children and had c-sections and never experienced labor, but that pain is what it is compared to.

Kidney stones are very painful and when they move out of the kidney you can even get blood in your urine.

You can try and strain your urine with a colender and see if there are any small particals in there or go to the doctor and they can do a simple urine test to see if there is blood in your urine; because sometimes it's not visible to the human eye.

Good luck! I had 33 stones in a three year period. I hope you don't have to go through this. But if it is a stone, the pain will pass as soon as the stone does.

It could also be gallstones. But that pain usually stays in the upper abdomen. Kidney stones run through the urithra so it can hurt really bad in the pelvis area.

Better to be safe then sorry...call your doctor! Even if it's something that will pass on it's own, then at least you will have peace of mind and get a proper diagnosis. None of us (at least most of us) are not medical professionals so we cannot diagnose you based on your short description. Go get seen!

Hi G., I suggest that if you don't have a BM this morning and the pain persist, you go to your doc or the em room.
Sometimes if you eat late at night, this can happen because the food is not digested prior to lying down. The pepsis should have helped if this is the case.
I never would suggest you take a chance, do you have an appendects?

Call your Dr. Don't try to just get through it. Keep calling until you feel better. Could be a pulled muscle or gas or who knows what else. Best to talk to a professional.

If the pain feels like you are being squeezed or crushed, it could be a UTI (kidney infection). You might want to have a urine test from your primary care doctor because you'll need antibiotics to clear it up. The medicine makes the pain go away fairly quickly.

Go to the DR. It could be a lot of different things, but I am guessing by your request it is very painful, it could be something that would rupture.

Is it possible that you could have an ectopic pregnancy? This is when the egg plants inself in the wrong place, i.e., one of your tubes. This will cause severe pain, and referred pain. Referred pain is when you press down on your stomach and let go quickly and the pain is so bad you feel like peeling yourself off the ceiling. I know severe pain & referred pain is there with ectopic pregnancy & also with apprendicitis. You should definately go see a doctor as soon as possible. Please don't take this lightly.

Yes, I have experienced this. I'm guessing it's gall bladder-maybe stones. That's what I had. In Chinese Traditional Medicine, the time in which you are experiencing this is gall bladder time. I would suggest you have your gall bladder checked. There are alternative therapies to deal with this other than surgery which the MD's won't know about. I have information if you are interested.

I have had a lot of surgeries and it could be alot of things. I have had lower abdominal pain more to the one side which was my ovary. I actually have pain with ovulation. It was very positional especially if I layed on my side or stomache it would wake me up. Even though I have had a tubal and my husband a vasectomy; I had to go on birth control pills to help it. I did have lower pain in my abdomin earlier from scar tissue causing problems with my intestines and also a hernia. I hope you don't have this issue. I would recommend seeing a doctor because early treatment resolves the problem quicker and less complications for you. I wish you the best of luck.
