Clearblue Easy digital is the way to go. They are $39.99 and you get a week or so worth of test strips. If you ovulate at all regularly you can make one kit last for 2-3 months. I think they may be cheaper online.

I tried a cheaper one once and could not make sense of the strips. I couldn't tell when I ovulated. Clearblue Easy is super simple. I was a fertility patient for almost a year so I used these a lot.

Good luck!

I am irregular and have some fertility issues. We used www.fertilityfriend.com to chart everything (basal body temp, cervical mucus, cervical position, saliva, and the ovulation predictor strips). I bought the predictor strips online for super cheap, because my cycles are irregular I needed to buy a bunch and they worked ok for me.

I found the kit to be kind of hard to read. I did like using www.fertilityfriend.com. I just charted my body temperature and got pregnant the first try. My first pregnancy, I used the kit and it took about six months, so I guess it did help, it just took awhile. Good luck to you!

I was told by 3 different people to "skip the cheap sets and get the real deal." I can't recall the brand right now - Clear Blue, I think - but it costs $160-$200 and the sticks are $50 for a pack of 30. (You can get it cheapest at Costco.)

This worked both times for me and I've had 2 other friends use it with success. But I needed the expensive kit because I'm older and didn't want to mess around. I have a friend who was using the Target brand kit and had no problems with it.

Good luck!

Hi Jessica,
I would recommend buying this book or getting it from your library. It'll teach you how to understand your cycle and to know when you're ovulating. I didn't even take my temperature but still knew when I was ovulating. I have gotten pregnant easily 3 times using the system outlined in that book.

Good luck!

I used the clearblue easy fertility monitor for baby 1 (5 years old now) and baby 2 (now 6 months pregnant with.) You can get a great bundle (monitor, batteries, sticks) from http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/clearblue.html Which is a great deal. It was extremely helpful to us as I was irregular. good luck!

I tried the ovulation predictor kits with no luck until I got the Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor. It's a little machine that costs $200. Pricey, but it works, and when you compare it to what you will be spending on that kid during your lifetime, a teeny drop in the bucket. I'm an older mom (41 and pregnant right now!) With my first pregnancy, I got pregnant on the first try with the monitor. With my daughter on the second try. And with this pregnancy, on the first try. I swear by it.

I used the Target brand with both my kids and got pregnant pretty fast both times. I honestly don't think you need to spend the extra money on the name brand. Good luck!

I've used the store brand from Wal-Mar or Jewel. Also, I use babycenter.com and use their fertility calculator.

I used the Clearblue Easy kit. It was very simple and easy, and we were pregnant the first month I used it.

With baby #2 & #3 I used the Ovulite.
I will do my best to explain it but it would be better to do a Google search on it. It works using your saliva first thing in the morning. It uses a little flashlight that's the size of a lipstick and has a magnifying disk on one end. The process is you put your saliva on the disk every morning and wait for it to dry then you look through the ovulite and if the dried saliva looks like crystals you are not ovulating but if it looks like a fern pattern you are. It's a very clear difference. I was VERY skeptical at first but it worked twice for us.
Good Luck!!

It costs around $25. I bought it at CVS but Amazon sells them too. It works amazingly well and is reusable so you don't have to spend money every month.

I used the strips from the link above (no affiliation) for two of my children. You have to buy the sample cup to use these strips, but they are waaaay cheaper than other tests and accurate. I started with 50 strips so that I had enough to goof around with to get used to it. I gave the extras to a friend after I got pregnant with my last child. Best wishes!

Hi Jessica
If you have a clue when you are ovulating then you may be ok not having the best brand. I would use ones from the Dollar Tree. Only $1 so when you miss the day and want to use one every day for the week it doesn't get too pricey! Good Luck!

I used Clear blue easy digital monitor...it's pretty expensive but much clearer then trying to just use predictor sticks and try to get clear results. I got pregnant twice with the monitor...it's clear and accurate...for the most part. Better then most things out there in my opinion:)

I agree go with the ClearBlue Easy Ovulation Monitor.
I used it and got pregnant first month with baby #1 and the second month with baby #2! I had several friends who had success as well.

I found the sticks and monitor on ebay for cheaper than in the stores!

Good Luck :)

I did the cheap ones, can't remeber the name. But it was a small tube with 30 "papers" in it for under $10. You had to pee in this little cup and dip the paper in it for 15? seconds. It worked and was way cheaper and more acurate than clear blue easy, which never showed I ovulated at all!

I didnt want to mess with the temperature or cervical mucus charting so I found OV kits the way to go. I prefer paying the extra for the clearblue easy ones that give you a smiley face if you are ovulating and a blank circle if your not. I had gotten other kits before but found it hard to read the lines - couldnt really be sure if the test line was as dark as the control.

I liked the Clearblue ones with the smiley face. Those are expensive though. I would buy the strips from Amazon (get like 30-50 of them for cheap) so that I could test frequently. When I suspected that I had a positive surge from the strips I would use one of the Clearblue smiley face ones as backup. This way I didn't have to use the smiley face ones everyday.
