My fiance HATES this one local radio station, and it's always on in the car. He asks me how I can stomach listening to this stuff, and I always blame it on the kids, saying our daughters love it and, being the *great* mom I am, I put it on for them.
Truthfully, that one Miley Cyrus song, the USA one.... um, I'm embarrassed to admit I know every word. Ditto for anything pre-teen really... my kids have me hooked on this junk. Closet pop freak, right here!
On the flip side, I sometimes forget to censor MY music, and what the girls hear. We were driving through downtown Richmond with all the windows down one day, and that Mickey Avalon song came on, 'Jane Fonda', and my sweet little 5 and 7 year olds are singing their lungs out in the backseat. I was in air brain mode that day until a freaking POLICE OFFICER came over to my car when I was stopped at a light and, with raised eyebrows, asked if I thought the song was 'age appropriate'. Oh. my. god. I about died!!
They also know all the words to an embarrassingly racist song by NOFX, thanks to ONE slip up by my fiances little brothers ipod. NOT awesome.
