Anyone use it? I have a hard time with hormones, so I'm thinking a low dose pill might be a bit easier to handle. My concern is that it may have a higher rate of failure. I know that I have to take the pill at the same time every day, but I just spent the majority of the last two years being pregnant, and I really cannot afford to have another pregnancy right now. Anyone like this particular pill? Thanks ladies.

What can I do next?

I was on this pill for quite some time. (5 years) I am a fertile myrtle! When I got off that pill I was pregnant on the third day. So, I think it worked just great keeping me "protected". I will say that I did not know until AFTER I got off the pill that I think it totally squashed my sexual desire. I was having a really hard time gettin' hot and bothered! But, when I got off the pill I was one horny mama. (TMI?) So, I don't know if that's what you meant by "hormones" but I know that I really liked being off the pill!

I took this pill-- I have a very sensitive body and tolerated this very well. The key to the failure rate for this pill is literally taking it at the EXACT time daily. If not you may have spotting or get pregnant. I liked it thought because I didn't have issues with my weight or skin or moodiness. It worked well for me.

I tried it for several months and hated it. I pretty much had non-stop spotting and/or period the whole time. The dr. told me to give it a chance for my body to adjust...but after about 4 months I was so sick of dealing with it that I went off the pill entirely. I was going to get an implant in my arm (can't remember the name right now) but then ended up prego with my 3rd child. After that my hubby just decided to get a vasectomy so we don't have to worry about it anymore!

I am sensitive to the hormones also and have tried different pills over the years. I have taken this one in the past and didn't have any problems with it. After my second baby I took the progesterone only pill for over 2 years w/o getting pregnant and had no problems with that one either. When we decided we wanted another baby I stopped taking it and got pregnant the first month I tried.

Low hormone pills work in great part by making the lining of the uterus inhabitable for a fertilized egg. Therefore, a baby is aborted. Most people do not know this, and I believe you have a right to informed consent. I know that I didn't know this and was so upset when I found out. I was so grieved that I may have unknowingly aborted my babies. I highly recommend that you research this issue if it is at all a concern to you.

I used it for years and liked it. Once I was done breastfeeding my babies, I went back on it. I didn't experience any adverse side effects. It doesn't have a higher rate of failure because of the lower dosage of hormones.

Any low dose pills are going to have the problem of breakthrough ovulation if they aren't taken at the same time on the dot each day.

I have had terrible problems with the hormones in BC pills my whole life and I love love love the Nuvaring.

Put it in once a month and it works better than the pill because there's no "human error" to deal with if you miss a pill. Also, the hormones are delivered differently than the pill and are less disruptive to your system. Also, as with the pill, you can use it back to back and just have a period every 3 months instead of every month.

When it's in you can't even feel it and neither can your partner during sex.

I tryed it after my daughter was born and I had super heavy periods and hated it. I also had a lot of spotting too. I ended up using the Nuva Ring and after you get used to it the first month it's fine. My dr told me that with a pill the hormones spike up after you take it and then fall off for the next 24hours till it's time for the next one. With the Nuva Ring you have a continuous level of hormone for the entire time. It has helped me a lot. On Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo I was basically bleeding for 21 days a month but I never knew when it would happen bevause 1 1/2 of the weeks was spotting. I had atleast a 12 day period every month and totally hated it.

I liked it, however got pregnant while taking it! was traveling at the time and due to the time difference, etc, my pill schedule got off track by a few hours... so it is obviously sensitive to this. If you are someone that can/will take the pill at the same time every day, it will probably be fine, but for me... I am looking in to more permanent measures, or the implants that last for 5 to 10 years.
