Jameson, Jett, Jasper - sorry, but the poor kid would get teased within an inch of his life with the name Jasper - cute and old fashioned for an adult, but difficult for a kid to carry :)
My husband loves Jett Fanning. I HATE the name Jett. (Sorry if you used it...It's just not for me!) I really like Jasper Fanning but NOONE but me likes Jasper so my pick is - Jameson Fanning.
Fanning is my grandparents last name and James is my step-dad's name. Opinions please!!

Jett to me sound like the Chinese movie actor Jett Lee. How about going with Justin or Jacob or Jarrod with Fanning. These names start with "J", it's another option for the name. May you have a healthy pregnancy and a safe delivery. The other S.
Out of those three, I like Jameson the best. Not sure if you are going for all "J's", but I also think the name Rhett is really cute... it's similar to Jett, but I like it better.
My 14 month old is names James and we get compliments on his name all the time. I like Jameson also.......Jett, not so much. Good luck! :-)
Not a big fan of Jasper or Jett, so of the three, Jameson would be my choice.
If you and your husband are having a hard time deciding, don't be afraid to go with 4 names. We did that for my son so we could use our favorite name, my husband's grandfather's name and both our last names (since I still use my maiden name). My sister-in-law and her husband named both their kids (girl and boy) with 4 names after that as well. It's becoming much more popular and it's a way to compromise when you can't seem to agree.
In your case Jasper Jett Fanning T or Jett Jasper Fanning T. His friends might end up calling your son "JJ", which I personally love, or maybe even "JT". :-)
Good luck and congrats on your new little bundle of joy to be.

I actually kind of like Jett. But here's the thing. I think you need to maybe have a little cooperation on the name. You seem fairly set that you want to make the little one's middle name Fanning after your family. So you may have to compromise on the first name and let your hubby have some things that he likes...not that you will HATE...but one he likes for sure. It's only fair if you are locking down the middle name. My hubby and I did this and it worked great. We picked some names we both liked and sat down and put them together to find one that really fit that we each chose. Good luck!!!
Jameson or James, please. Jett sounds like a TV show. if you name him Jameson, don't call him Jamie. Too cute and sounds like a girl. Remember this baby boy may grow up to be president someday. He should have a dignified, masculine name at any rate.
My granddaughter named her daughter Grace Amelia-Rose so she could use family names. We call her Grace or Gracie and as an adult she can do whatever she wants. But she has a lovely name.
Here's an idea.... you all agree on Fanning, so maybe that should be his FIRST name!?? Maybe, Fanning James? That sounds great!
I like Jasper b/c i'm a fan of the "Twilight" book series, and there is a character named Jasper :)
GO with your gut. I was talked out of my name for my 2nd daughter and regretted it from day 1-- ended up calling her by her middle name (the original name I had chosen).
Good luck!
you probably won't like my response, but I do like "Jett"; however, you and your husband need to agree. This is just my two bits anyway... with you having Fanning as the middle name which is from your side, then why can't your husband have Jett? Seriously, you and your husband need to agree on it, it really doesn't matter what any of us think. I do like how you have meaning to the name, all of my children's names have deep meaning too. I think that is important. My daughter's middle name is a combo of her father and mine's middle name "LeKay" his is Lemont, mine is Kay. Our oldest son is named after my dad and our baby is named after his dad. They each of their "own" name mixed with heritage.
Congrats on baby JF!
I love Jett, Jasper, and Jameson! I named my second son "Shade" and I've not regretted it once. I love unique names because I grew up with such a boring one. Good luck and remember to name him whatever suits you and your husband...not everyone else on earth!
"NOONE but me likes Jasper"
This is precisely why we don't discuss names with anyone LOL! It's nobody's business but you and DH.
BUT since you did ask for help, here's what I think. There are usually two types of middle names, the "nickname" and the "last name". Fanning definitely falls into the 2nd category. There's nowhere (good) to go with it if DS doesn't like his first name. So I think you should go more neutral for a first name. Jett and Jasper are a little out there. I actually LOVE Jasper, but I don't think it would work with Fanning. I don't like Jett, but your son would probably prefer it to Jasper. Jameson is defintely the most neutral of the 3 (and cute and not very common), and I say go with that. But how does DH feel about Jameson? If he hates it, then keep looking, or let him have Jett. Think of it this way- why should your family get both names?
Keep in mind, Jett may seem unusual NOW, but with John Travolta's son Jett's tragic death this year, it could become more common, which could be good or bad, depending on your viewpoint. I already (personally) know babies named "Maddox" and "Ledger".
I like Jett and Jameson, but do not like Jasper or the name Fanning for a middle name.
Jameson... or another name.... you've got time... right up until they bring you the paperwork to fill out while you hold your new bundle of joy.
A plain first name is best for use with a middle name of Fanning though. Like James, John, Joseph, Geoffrey or Bricsoe... oops that last one slipped out!
I actually like Jett, and Jameson, I don't care for Jasper
I like Jameson as well, you could obviously shorten it and call him Jamie which I think is a sweet name for a boy. When I think of Jasper, I think about Cruella De Vill's dog steeling bad guy Jasper...I think it came from that movie - LOL Jett is a little trendy for me
My friends have a son Jasper that they call Jazzy, but I prefer Jameson... but Jett is okay too. Be happy- it could be worse... my husband truly wants to name our next child if it's a boy Dude. Please God may we have another girl!
I love the name Jett & Jameson. I wouldn't do Jasper. Kids might call him Casper in school and I grew up with a dog named Jasper.
Jett & Jameson are more unique and strong names. Either one you pick will be a good name.
Good luck to you......boy names are tough! : )
I like Jasper! Not a fan of Jett, though.
Jett Fanning sounds like a football player. I don't think it's that bad, but if you hate - - then you hate it and you shouldn't cave in to a name you hate so much. I think men are similar to children in that they need to have choices and feel in control. If there was a name you really loved and he absolutely hated...you wouldn't expect him to go with it anyway and deal with it. Explain it to him that way. Then give him several names you do like and let him pick which one he wants of those. He'll feel like he's made the decision when really you like them all anyway and it doesn't matter.
Guess I am the only one, but I like Jett =) I think it is cool, and really unique.
