I highly recommend Dr. Bruce Rajala at Presby Allen. I had my 3rd child here in Texas and started my pregnancy care with a group in Plano. The Plano group was "convinced" that there was serious concern about the health of my baby. Even after a level 3 sonogram looked normal, they still said there was concern. I refused the amnio, because I did not agree that the risk was that high. I didn't appreciate the stress those doctors put on me, so midway through my pregnancy, I had a consultation with Dr. Rajala. He listened to my whole sob story, was so compassionate and reassuring that I immediately switched to him. He monitored me closely for the last 1/2 of my pregnancy and continued to offer reassurance whenever I needed it. My "baby" is now 8 years old and he is healthy as can be. I can't say enough about how caring and compassionate Dr Rajala is. Incidentally, I later had a miscarriage (would have been child #4 - and a big surprise). Dr. Rajala was extremely kind during that tough time. He really understood the pain of that loss. Many people don't "get" the emotional pain of a miscarriage - let alone a male doctor who probably sees that kind of thing all the time. He really "got it" though.
One other thing about Dr. Rajala is that his office staff has remained pretty much the same over all these years. That says a lot to me, that he does not have high turnover in his office.
All that said, choosing a doctor is very personal - I recommend having a consultation with 2-3 doctors and then deciding who you like best. Good luck to you!
