I just started using this yesterday and I'm not sure that I am going to like it. I would like to hear some opinions and experiences from someone who has or is used/using this.

I used the NuvaRing for a while and really liked it. My insurance quit covering it, and I actually paid full cost for it for a while I liked it so much. My hubby got snipped after our last child so I don't need bc any more but if I did, I would absolutely go back to NuvaRing! After the first day or so I never really felt it again, never had a problem getting it in or it staying in. Good luck whatever you choose!
I went on it when it first came out and stayed on it until I decided to have babies. Now I'm back on it. LOVE IT!! I think some people say it is not staying in place or was uncomfortable because it is not placed far enough inside. My doctor said it is like inserting an O.B. tampon. You have to make sure it is way up there. I know, I used to think "what if I can't find it to remove it"...you can.
I have been on it for 5 months now and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. My periods are reduced from 7 days to 3 or 4 and they are lighter. I was really unsure about it at first, but once I learned to put it in right (I wasn't going far enough), it hasn't come out on it's own and I really don't think about it. I can't feel it, and (this is a bit personal, but of course everyone wonders...)it can't be felt in intercourse. PLUS, because the pharmacy has to keep it at a certain temp during storage, my rx mailing company sends it overnight in a fridge pack free of charge.
No pills to remember daily at the right time, nothing extra to pack on trips, simple and effective. The first couple months I was REALLY scared and bought pregnancy tests because I usually started my period the 2 nd day on pills- but with the ring I don't start until the 3rd or 4th day out. Nice change! This is a good choice for anyone who doesn't want to do anything more long term like an implant. Just mark your calendar so you don't forget to change it each month!
I have 2 friends who love it and swear by it, but I agree with Carolyn- mine kept falling out and was very uncomfortable. I only lasted a week on it.
I loved it. I used it for about 2 years until DH got snipped. If you've ever put in an OB tampon, it's no different than that. I never had it move on me or anything. I couldn't feel it, DH couldn't feel it, it was great!
I tried it and it would never stay in a place that was comfortable for me. I did not like it.
I used it for two years before having our children and loved it. I just got back on it last year and loved it, but for the past few months I have been having problems with it. I am almost 35 so I figure most of them are just hormone changes and it just isn't going to the right choice for anymore.
K.,
Give it a few months before you give up. I have been on Nuva Ring for over 3 years and love it. I read all the responses - and yes I too one time had it fall out....never to be found!!!???!!! Couldn't tell ya what happened there! ;) It actually gets more comfortable and easy to love after a month or two...
Good luck!
I used the NuvaRing for almost 2 years and I loved it. If my insurance paid more toward it I would still be using it. And honestly I will probably have my Mirena removed and start paying for the nuva ring at the beginning of the year. It is very convenient. I can't take the pill because it doesn't work for me - I had 2 children on the pill, but this method is very effective. Good Luck
I used this and really loved it, but unfortunately, my body didn't. I found out the hard way that I am allergic to latex. If I could I would go back to using it. It was a little awkward at first, but I got use to it and LOVED it! If you have any other questions, pm me and I'll try to shed some light.
Hi K., Boy you have your hands full with 2 under 24 months.....anyway, on the nuva ring, I used it for a while after I had my son, I did like it. But I have to say that I really got a scare one time, when it was time to take it out I couldn't find it. Really freaked me out, I went to my ob/gyn and she couldn't find it either and said it just wasn't there, she said that you can push it out by accident during a bowel movement or something like that. I got a scare they thought I might have gotten prego, but thank goodness I didn't. I had just had my son. I am now on the Implanon and love it. I don't get a period and I don't have to worry about birth control. I would recommend it to anyone. On the Nuva Ring, if you like sticking something up there every month and having to worry about it every month, then it's for you, but it wasn't for me. Good luck with it though. Hope you have better luck with it than I did.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! My dr prescribed it to me after the birth of my DD 6 years ago and I've been on it until last October when we started trying for #2. Birth control pills made me too moody and I found taking them everyday was a chore. The ring was exactly what I needed!
If it's in far enough, you should not be able to feel it at all. After sex though, make sure you check to make sure it's still in place. I've had one fall out in the toilet before. If you want, you can take it out for an hour or so and just reinsert it later, no problem.
My Dr. also had me on it for 3 months at a time so I only had a period 4 times a year. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!! Give it a few months to really get the full effect of it. Good luck!
