Nursing Bras - Auburn,MI

I liked my lightweight nighttime bra a lot (just lift it up instead of fumbling with hooks, etc when you're tired) and they were very comfortable. But I am very small on top.

At night I used a Medela sleep bra and loved it! It was so easy to maneuver for those middle of the night feedings, and if I was lucky to have my twins sleep through, the bra wasn't super tight and constricting.

My favorite nursing accessory by far were my nursing tanks from Target. I preferred the Gilligan O'Malley ones over the Liz Lange. I have to order them online, but found them more supportive. I stopped measuring at DD...lol.

They had good coverage and held up great. They accomdated the many sizes that my breasts were during breasfeeding.

I also had a couple of Bravado...but somthing in their adjustment pieces irritated my skin.

I actually preferred wearing just a nursing tank top to bed. I am smaller chested when I'm not pregnant (between an A and B) and then go up to a C or D when nursing so I don't know how that option would work for women who are bigger chested. But I LOVE the nursing bras. I just stick a nursing pad inside the tank top at night in case of leaks. They are the tank tops that have a "shelf bra" built in so they offer mild support while sleeping. And I like it because it's one less layer to remove prior to nursing. You just unhook it at the strap near your shoulder and start nursing - no shirt to pull up or pull aside. Motherhood maternity makes some nice nursing tank tops. And like a poster said below: the nursing tanks accomodate changing breast sizes whereas a nursing bra does not. I even wore them outside of the house as well.

I have to agree with Amanda C. The nursing tanks from Target have been a lifesaver! They're great to sleep in or for wearing around the house or under a t-shirt running errands.

I hated nursing bras. I bought one and only wore it for about 2 weeks. I chose to wear athletic bras (my favorite were nylon Champion bras) which were easier as far as I was concerned for nursing.
I nursed my son exclusively (except for pumping during the day) for a year and our daughter (exclusively) for 3 months before having to stop to get chemo.

I also got a lot of mileage out of wearing a tank top under just about everything to help with support - especially at night

Other people swear by nursing bras, but I personally thought they were more trouble than they were worth.

Bravado and Anita were the best nursing bras I found and I was a size E (so not exactly light support). I think they may even be making some underwire models, just be careful of what kind of underwire you get. I was told it can interfere with milk production.

I prefer the nursing shirts I found at Target in the nursing bra section. I had bought a light nursing bra right before I had my daughter and ended up with an engorged breast the day my milk came in due to lack of proper support. This may be because my breasts went from a D to an DD/E. All I know is that it was an incredibly painful experience. Check the tank tops out, they are so comfortable that I don't wear my underwire full support nursing bra unless I have to!

I bought one of the nighttime nursing bras when I had my daughter. I really liked the bra itself, however b/c it's light support I had more leakage with it than if you went with the underwire bra. Overall I would suggest buying one if for nothing else than they are far more comfortable than any other bra I bought for sleeping.

Probably after the fact - but the only comfortable nursing bras I found were Bravado - worth the money, very comfortable/functional.

i am quite large and normally wear a size 44DD. When i had my first daughter, I had such a hard time finding a nursing bra. My doctor recommended the bravado line and I LOVE them. I nursed my daughter for 15 months, and i wore them for several months after that. Now that I am pregnant, they are the most comfortable bras to wear and they are still holding up. i just purchased a few news one, as the first ones have about 2 years of wear on them, so I needed to get some new ones. I would definatly say check them out.

I think it depends on your size. I was a 36C when I had my daughter and was comfortable in Target's nursing bras that were more like a sports bra. Comfortable to sleep in and easy access for the baby. The Target ones were $12.99 a piece.

I 100% agree on the Bravado line! Underwire is a HUGE no-no for a nursing mom. It can cause blocked ducts, which can lead to mastitis (sooo not fun!). Bravado has a huge range of styles!

I never liked nursing bras. I Found a comfy sports bra (especially at bed time) was much better for me. I was able to lift my breast over the front of the bra to feed the baby with no problem.

I have not tried these specific bras, however I used some non underwire ones from Target. They were comfortable like a sports bra, only for nursing, and had some elastic in the middle to prevent a uni-boob look, lol. :) They were very very comfortable, though not quite as supportive as ones with underwire. They're pretty cheap, so worth a try even if you don't like.

I wore an underwire to bed with my first, too... The sleeping nursing bras are SO much more comfortable and actually kept me from leaking as much at night, since the girls weren't as confined.

I tried many different kinds of bras when I was nursing and I think that a lot depends on the size you wear. I tried the underwires and they didn't last long. I tried the lightweight ones and they stretched out too easy. I always wore a DD when I was pregnant so it was hard but a sports bra was the best option for me.

I bought some soft-cup nursing bras from JC Penney's (can't remember the brand just now, but probably Duo or somethin) and really liked them. I also always needed the support (38G was my biggest nursing size). I ended up switching to the soft-cup during the day a lot, too. For underwires, I loved the Medela bras (pricey, but great). I also slept in nursing tanks a lot since that was much easier and more like what I usually sleep in.

I did not like my underwire nursing bra at all!! I bought my non underwire bras from babies r us for only $20! Love them!! The brand is motherhood maternity...they are seemless, and very comfortable, and as an extra perk, they are very supportive, "lifting", so it still looks like you are wearing a nice bra.

Check out Bravado online, they are awesome and can be worn in the daytime too. I have the body silk seamless and it has no underwire and is really comfortable with removable soft cups. They also have a new style that looks really good too! Worth the $$!

I had some sports bra style nursing bras that I slept in with my daughter and they had no underwire, they were fantastic. In fact, almost 5 years later I still keep one in my drawer as a backup sports bra. I got them at Kohls and they were reasonably priced and lightweight. Good Luck!
