I am thinking about having NovaSure done next week. I wanted to see if anyone else had this done and what you thought about it good/bad.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks. I am going to have it done next week and I called to confirm that I would be totally out and not feel a thing. It will be done in the doctors office and best of all...it's only a $25 copay! The only thing that I am worried about is being diabetic and not being able to eat before the procedure. It's at 2 p.m. so I need to ask about how late I can eat.

I had it done, it was very easy, no pain and I've been very happy with it. If you have any specific questions feel free to send me a message I'll be glad to answer.

I think this is the procedure I had done...
the procedure went fine, and I had very, very little pain for just a few hours. I was hoping it would get rid of periods all together, but I stilll have them monthly, just a little lighter and timeframes are off a bit now. I got mine for a copay of 20.oo because I asked the doctor to do it in office...normally they put you under. Remember, I 'think' this is the procedure I had done...I am not positive.

I had it done March 11, 2009 so I haven't discovered if I will ever have a period again, (they say it takes three months) but the two I have had are very light. I can actually live my life without the fear of Niagra Falls.

Hi, I had this done a year ago this month...best thing I ever did. My periods were heavy and I had major cramping. Although there is no evidence that it should take away any symptoms of a period...ie, cramps, bloating, etc., it did for me. The only way I know now a period is coming is that my breasts are a little tender about a week before. The first couple of months I spotted...now I have nothing. No need for a pad or tampon at all. I may have a little cramping some months...but it is so minor and just lasts maybe 15-30 minutes...and then I say...."Oh I must be having my phantom period!". That is what it has become...takes 90 seconds for the actual procedure...my insurance covered it due to heavy menstrual bleeding and all I had to pay was a co pay as well...my dr. did it in his office...I was under total sedation...so I knew nothing of what was going on. I totally recommend it...so worth it to not have to worry every month and feel so awful with all the bleeding...hope this helps...any questions, please feel free to contact me....Good luck...
