Usually it's my boss that De motivates me. Luckily my students motivate me while I'm at work, but I have trouble dragging myself to work every morning. I think the right boss could inspire.........
I have no motiviation to do anything. I work M-F 9-5 but for the life of me the las two days I have done nothing. I'm very happy and greatful to have a job but these past days I'm just not feeling it.
Has anyone else felt this way at work? If so what have you done to be motivated?

O.M.G. I felt like that recently. I just could not snap out of it. I think DAYS went by and I didn't do a darn thing at work. I wondered how long it could go on before my boss caught on. Luckily I'm management and it would have to be pretty darn bad for something I did to get noticed.
I took two days of vacation on Monday and Tuesday so I could have a four-day weekend to rest, get my house cleaned, and do whatever I wanted. My hubby was off with me. We just spent time together. It was awesome, and much-needed. I came back to work yesterday feeling MUCH better. :)
think about where you would be without a paycheck, that might get you motivated.Jobs are so hard to find.
Yup! That's how I wind up on mampedia. Don't worry about it, it'll go away. I think it's human nature to feel a little "meh" about work, life and everything in between.
I am sure everyone has felt this way, especially if they are in a job that does not use all of your creativity and intelligence. I just tell myself a couple of things: I like eating and I need to pay my bills. And I suppose I could use the cliche, look for something good in everyday.
i get like that. ussually when its crunch time and i have no time to avoid work i get motivated and enjoy it again...its funny ussually the more i slack the more unmotivated i get..time goes by too slow and i get tired
Yeah, some days are just like that. When I have one of those days, I spend a lot of time right here. Then I bargain with myself - if you do xyz then you can read 3 questions.
Oh you just described today. It has taken every ounce of will to keep from leaving......
I take a lot of pride in good timely work product so the only thing that is keeping me going is my pride.
Sounds like you need a break. Anyway you can take some time off and feed your soul?
Are you feeling overwhelmed? If so break down the tasks into individual doable in one block of time, perhaps a day. Once you see progress you'll feel better about doing the job.
Everyone has days like that. Sounds like u need a couple of days off. Even if you have to "call in sick". Today is Friday, It would give you a three day weekend or Monday/tuesday. It helps when it's not just one or two days off in a row. It's called a mental health day, and people do need those. When you are off, you need to do what YOU want to do. Take a long bath, read a book, go shopping...,whatever. The other side could be maybe you need a change at work. Different department, different responsibilities? Or maybe your job is just not for you any longer. Just because the economy is tuff and people are out of work, doesn't mean that you can't find a new job that you will love more. Time off usually gives you that answer. If you take a week or even 4days off in a row (tag on to the weekend) when you come back it is much easier to say if it is the job or if it was just one of those weeks. Good luck.
I think a day off might be in order...however, if this feeling continues (and especially if it carries over to the other parts of your life) I'd suggest getting a blood workup and make sure they test your thyroid. When my thyroid is out of whack, that is one of my symptoms.

Workout!! I know you are exhausted, but treat yourself to a new gym or even a trainer once a week or once every two weeks. You will NOT want to go after work, but once you are there you wil be so happy u did it. Make friends at the gym or do something social to keep work from being the overriding experience in your day.
Most importantly, keep your resume updated and get online-search jobs. Know what is out there and always be looking for other opportunities. I stayed at a job I hated for five years because I knew that was how much experience I needed to go to the next level-monster.com had lots of amazing jobs for me once I hit that mark :)
Lastly-make sure this is not depression-if you feel like it might be-get help!! You deserve to be happy!!
Do I ever not feel that way? :) As someone said, I'm more motivated when I'm busy with deadlines. Other time, it helps to just give myself an hour and then start making lists. Having something to target and then cross off is motivating. It also helps if I feel like everything at home is under control. Then I can focus on work...
