My husband is working at Baltimore, Maryland airport right now and commuting back home to Texas to see his family on his days off. I wanted my daughter and I to visit him in the spring but I want to find some activities for us to do while we are up there visiting with him. I was thinking of going to the beach up there. My daughter has not seen the beach yet, she is only 2 years old. Does anyone know of the best beach to visit by Linthicum Heights/Baltimore Maryland? Were we can actually walk on the beach, have a beautiful view (I don't want to see hotels everywhere) and there is not a lot of people.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I'm in northern Va and as far as I know (I could be wrong though) there is no beach near Baltimore. Fun things to do in Baltimore are the science center and the aquarium. My kids LOVE going to those 2 places. But as for beaches, I think the closest one is Ocean City (which I think is about 2-3 hours away, but again I could be wrong). We are making a trip to VA beach which is about 4 hours away from me here where I am.

Ocean City, MD is pretty packed in the summer, but it is lighter in the spring (before May). They have a boardwalk where you might find a few things open off season, but not too much.

If you're looking for something more peaceful, try Rehoboth or Dewey Beach in Delaware. Rehoboth has more of a village-type shopping area and there are quaint neighborhoods to walk around, and Dewey you're getting into just beach and little else.

Have fun!

Baltimore is a great place to visit. we just took our six yr old he loved the children's museum called Port Discovery, the science museum, the aquarium, touring the ships and waking around the harbor. There were paddle boats that looked like dragons. The childrens museum would be great for your little one, you get bracelets so no one else can leave with her, we went at one o' clock and all the school tours were leaving so it was very quiet.

I live not too far from Baltimore, but there are no beaches there. Ocean City and Rehoboth are the big beaches here. VA Beach is only 3 hours away too. They are all nice.

There is LOTS to do in Baltimore though. The aquarium is fabulous, there is a kids museum, so close to DC and the amazing history...you won't be bored here.

The beaches are further east-but Annapolis is nearby when you run out of stuff to do in Baltimore.

Take the drive to Rehoboth or Dewy in DE. It's a couple of hours, but they were pretty family friendly and Dewy is even quieter than Rehoboth. You're going to see hotels, though.

There is a LOT to do at the Inner Harbor, if you don't want to drive that far. The National Aquarium is pricey but worth seeing and a lot of fun. I think Port Discovery is still there, too.

And not far from Baltimore is DC (you can park at a lot on the end of the Metro, get day or week passes and then ride the Metro all over the city).

The northern beaches are less built up. i.e. this area is known for Ocean City, MD..........but just north up the coast are Fenwick, Rehoboth, Dewey, etc. We have been enjoying Rehoboth for the past few years. I'm not familair with the NJ beaches, but maybe some others will give you info on those. Good luck and enjoy your visit!
P.S. Beaches are about 3 hours away. VA Beach is 5 hours away.
Yes, agree with the other posts - lots to do in Baltimore!
