D.P.
Elizabeth, Katherine (Katie), Bailey, Parker, Peyton are my favorite girl names.
Please try to resist doing the oddly placed "y" thing that EVERYONE does!
We are having a baby girl and are having difficultly coming up with name that we love. We aren't looking for a unique name just something girly.
Thank you for any suggestions.
Thank you so much for all the responses.

Don't pick anything with a crazy spelling, anything that sounds like Makenzi or Makayla, or anything that ends with an ee or ley. I personally like Alice, Ruby, Lily, Ginger, Joy, Clair, Annabelle, Lucie, Camille, Audrey, Adele, and Susan.
I would pick something from my child hood that is uncommon now, like J.. Debbie, Annie, Sharon, Susan.

We have a Presley Joy (also my middle name) and a Jacey Lynn (also my husband's middle name). I love them both...not tooo different but not too common.
Well my 2 girls are Melissa and Marianne (born in France, so a French name that still works in English)
My granddaughter is Ruby, which is coming back into popularity.
Whatever you do, give her a "normal" spelling so she isn't plagued with having to explain it all the time.
Congratulations on your baby girl to be!

I know you've received a lot of responses but had to throw my two cents in too! I am in Human Resources and PLEASE spell the name so people can phonetically pronounce it whatever you do. No silent letters or letters in the wrong places or doubling the letters. Makes me crazy! I am a BIG fan of not neutrally naming a child-if you look at the name and you can tell it's a female or male name to know if it's a male or female. Just things to keep in mind...also pronounce the first name w/the middle and last names.
Some girl names that I like: Olivia, Amelia, Grace, Elise, Liza, Julia, Hannah, Norah (Nora), Lauren, Paige, Victoria

Congratulations! Little girls are so much fun and so filled with drama!!! We named our daughter Shannon Marie. Shannon is my mom and Marie is my MIL. I also like the name Savannah Georgia. I know.... :)! I also liked Sasha Lidell or Stephanie Lidell. Lidell is my middle name and my grandmother's middle name. However, baby #2 was a wonderful little boy so hubby didn't think it was appropriate to name him Sasha or Stephanie!
I named my kids after someone in the family that they knew or the person knew. Now those people are dead but they still live in my kids with their names. My 1st one was from my grandmother and mother, 2nd was from my dad and his grandfather,3rd one was from a aunt and great grandmother. My youngest grandaughter was named from her mom and Godmother.

Look up "SSA Names" on Google. You can get a list of the top 1000 most popular names. Decide approximately where on the list you want your daughter's name to be and look at that bracket. What I mean is, most people don't want every other girl in the class to have the same name, but they don't want to have something so unusual that nobody's ever heard the name before. So think to yourself, "I want it to be in the 100-300 range of popularity" and see which of those names strike a chord with you. None of us can know what names you hate because a mean girl in the fifth grade was named that, or just because it doesn't sound good to you, or because you don't like one of the nicknames that people would pick. I found the list really helpful when I was picking a name for my son. Turns out, the name I picked isn't on the list at all, which suits me just fine :)
I only have boys, but my girl names were Sarah-Grace Cassidy or Mary- katherine Martin. I am in love with the Southern two first name-name. Have fun with your girl! cb
Here is a great site with tons of baby names, suggestions, origins and meanings:
before i found out i was having a boy we were gonna use Alice May for a girl i loved it ... its girly and southern
Remember to choose a name that sounds good for a child, a teenager and an adult. I mean some names don't sound good for all and I think really say who the person is. for example the name Kaitlyn I don't think is good because as nice as it is for a little girl, and a teen It sounds like a strippers name or some dumb girl. I think for parents who choose names like these, their intention is to give their child a nice name, but I don't think a lot of parents think about it the way I do. like maybe Kimberly, sounds great for all, or Darby. Personally I love the name Quinn. so beautiful.
