Need Playmates for My Toddler Son

I am trying to find a few other kids for my 2 1/2 yo son to play with. We recently moved from the city to Lombard and he misses all of his little friends. During the day he is at home with his 9 mo brother and nanny. They spend a lot of time at the park and go on many adventures, but he is at an age where he just loves to be with other kids.

We are in Lombard and I'd be happy to arrange a playdate with my daughter and your son. She'll be 3 at the end of November. But I have an even better idea..if your son loves to be with other kids, the preschool we go to has a 2 year old room. I put my oldest through there - the 2 year old, then 3 year old, then 4 year old and she has some great friends that she is now in kindergarten with that she has known her "whole life". My 2 year old is in the 2 year old room now and is also making great friends. She goes M-W-F from 9-12. You can also do Tues-Thur from 9-12. It's relatively inexpensive, the other parents that go there are great and also encourage playdates, and I really can't say enough about the school. You can PM me for more information if you are interested.
Welcome to Lombard!

Hi C. - I have a son that is turning 3 in 2 weeks and a daughter that is 4. We live in Lombard as well near Montini High School (closer to Yorktown Mall). We are always looking for stuff to do as well. Please feel free to contact me and we can put a little playgroup together - we will need it especially once the the weather changes.

Step By Step PTA is a non-profit organization for toddlers & preschool. It's not affiliated with any daycare, park district or school.
Check the website stepbysteppta.com for more details and events coming up. It has many things to offer and only $15/yr for the whole family.
If you'd like to contact me directly for more details, that's no problem.
Best of luck to you!

I don't know your situation, but, at a home day care, vs. an in-home nanny, he will have playmates every day. The home day care providers out here are, many of them, wonderful and professional. Stereotypes are not to be trusted. The YMCA in Glen Ellyn has a list of them.

Hi C.:

Welcome to the area! I see that others already recommended meetup.com. I too recommend it. As a matter of fact, there is a wonderful group of working Moms in the western suburbs that we belong to. There are several boys in the 2-2.5 year age range who attend regularly with their working Moms. We usually meet up in Lombard, Villa Park, Elmhurst, Oak Brook ... Come join us!
