I'm a stay at home mom with a 11 month old son. I'm new to the area (we just moved here over the summer) and was wanting some advice on any good playgroups or MOP groups that are in the area. Whenever we go out and mu son sees other kids he can't seem to take his eyes off them. He keeps pointing as if he wants to join them, so I thought it would be good if he had some interaction with other kids similar in age. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

She loves it. I have not been able to check it out yet but I plan on it soon.
Good Luck!
Hey S.,
I moved here about a year ago and have had wonderful luck finding a MOPS and mom/child playgroup. Go to meetup.com and put in your zip so it can connect you with a group near your area. Also, the MOPS.org site does the same thing. My little girl and I have met some great people and it has helped us make friends here in Austin. I even got involved in a Bunco group after meeting some of the moms. Fun! Good luck.
www.northaustinmothersclub.org/ Hi S., here is a link to a Moms group in North Austin. I don't know anything about it. I joined a Moms Club in South Austin when we first moved here and I think they all have the same idea. There is also austinmothersandmore.org. This is very much like the group I joined, since it is a national organization, they have chapters and depending on where you live, you go to that chapter.. Good luck, I hope you meet some people. Once your child gets a bit older and goes to a pre-school and you get involved in the school, you will meet a lot of Moms.. -J.
Hi S.,
Welcome to Austin, I've been here almost a year...moved from Chicago. I discovered meetup.com, as mentioned by another post. The site is great and you can learn about many different groups. I belong to the Austin Stay at Home Moms group and the resources, activities and moms are terrific. I really love the people I've met and my 23 mo old daughter has a blast playing with the kids.
good luck,
J.
You should check out your local MOMS Club. You can google it and find one for where you live. I know that there are several in Round Rock, 2 in Pflugerville and I am sure the other cities have them as well!
It has been a life saver for me and my kids!

Hi S.,
I am part of a MOPS group that meets at Shoreline Christian Center in North Austin. We have a smaller group of about 20 moms, we do play dates, and just have a great time together. One of my best friends is the coordinator and I'd be glad to give you her name and number. I don't have all of the details but our kick-off is coming up at the end of the month. I've loved the ladies I've met since attending MOPS! Anyway, my friend's name is Eve Lollar and her number is ###-###-#### or you can email her at ____@____.com an awesome day!

Welcome to Austin!
There's many Austin Moms groups on meetup.com you can check out. :)
I go to a MOPS group at Grace Covenant Church (located by 183 & 360 near Mopac). I don't go to this church but love the support group from their MOPS program. The web site is www.grace360.org/Womens/MOPS.php .
Welcome to Austin,
