Need Help Planning a Party!!!

My daughter will be turning 9 next month, and I am at a loss for what to do! I have looked at a few different places that host birthday parties, but since I am going to be paying for everything without her dad's help, I am on a pretty tight budget. I want it to be something fun for her to remember, though. Our house is pretty limited on space, so we normally found somewhere to have a birthday party. I'm fine with doing that again, but I can't really afford more than about $200 for it. Does anyone know of a good place to have a birthday party, or have any good suggestions on a party at home for a bunch of third graders? With the uncertainty of the weather around here from day to day, I can't really plan an outdoor party. We live in the Springfield/Republic, MO area, so if you know of a place to go, it would need to be in one of those two cities. If you know the costs of those places also, it would help me out a lot. My daughter isn't very specific on what she would want to do for her birthday, so I'm not sure what would be too baby-ish or too mature for her age group. Thanks for any help and input!

So What Happened?

Well, I got her dad to help out with the financial part of it, so we have made reservations with The Party Place. She was really wanting to go there for her last birthday party, so I'm glad that I can do that this year for her. Thanks so much for all of the advice! I'll keep all of it in mind for future parties!

Check with the library to see about getting a room. Churches too have rooms they rent for small donations. Also, check with the fire station. Here in Ozark, our fire station has a big room they let people use for meetings and parties.
I have no idea what would be age-appropriate for a 9yr-old girl, so maybe see what her fave book or tv show or movie is. My niece just had a Harry Potter bday party, and my sis did an outstanding job turning her house into Hogwarts for the day. She used plastic tablecloths, a large kitchen sponge, and some grey paint, and made stone walls. So there are lots of things you can do for pennies. It just takes some imagination. Good luck!!

If you are mostly just needing space, you can call the fire department. A couple of the newer stations have community rooms that you can reserve for $25. You could have the kids play games, have cake and it would be very inexpensive. You can even arrange with the firemen to have a tour of the station and trucks.

Have you tried Incredible Pizza Co? If you limit the number it's pretty reasonable and everything is included, they will even make the cake for you at an additional price or you can bring your own. It includes a host to keep things going and if your daughter wants the host will do a couple of group games and then the kids an go play games with the game cards that are included in the package. There is a minimum and we chose to do my sons on a weeknight so it wasn't AS crowded. Okay this is a lot of info for one paragraph. Good luck! :)
