Need a (TX) Pediatrician Who Will Give the Separate MMR Vaccine Shots!

My son is 18mo and we are desperately looking for a Pediatrician that will give the Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) shots separate because ours will not since they believe nothing is wrong with the combined MMR.

I found a pharmacy where you can order the vaccines separate but now I need a doctor who will give the shots….

I live in San Antonio, Tx and would like to locate a doctor BUT I am willing to travel to Austin/Houston/Dallas, surrounding areas and anywhere in between.

You can send the Pediatrician info to my e-mail OR post below: ____@____.com

(Name of Doctor/ City /Phone number / Name of the practice if you have it)

Thanks in advance, Nakeisha Brown – Mommy Source member

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone who replied!!! Because of your responses, we were able to locate a doctor’s office 1 mile from our old pediatrician’s office and the funny thing is, he is my doctor’s doctor and was one of the original peds my husband and I did a consult with when trying to locate a doctor for our baby before he was born.

For all you parent’s who are not against vaccinations, but just looking for an office who will support separate MMRs, Northeast Pediatric Assoc might be the place for you.

The office located in Stone Oak and they just administered the first shot to our son last month…On our visit, we were told that this issue was discussed with the staff and they would rather provide this alternative than to have parents not vaccinate at all soooo they are all on board with the separate MMR vaccs.

Below is the info for the pediatrician’s office and for the pharmacy that sells the separate vaccines.

You can try Stone Oak Pediatrics, but they may tell you the same thing.

Their # is ###-###-####.

I'm in NC SA, where are you :)

Oh, our doc is Gunsberg, Bourland might be more open, and I wouldn't go to Trexler for anything at all, unless she is willing to separate the vax for you (the other 2 are awesome docs-even after DD got medicaid, we stayed w/ them even though they don't take it-love them that much)

Hi Keisha, This is J., I believe you took my childbirth classes with your first baby. I recommend you call Dr. Esquivel, he is a family practice doctor. You can call him at ###-###-####. Hope all is doing well.

hi nakeisha!
you may want to check with our pediatrician's office. we go to abcd pediatrics, in the stone oak area. our main dr. we see is dr. suzanne basey. i have had a dicussion with her in the past and she said she was willing to split some of the vaccines up, i just can't remember which ones?! also, you may try dr. fitch in the alamo heights area. good luck!

Hi Keisha - Congrats!
I understand your concern. The potential residual effects of vaccinations these days are terrifying. Good luck finding a doc to cooperate, though. None of them seem to take our fears seriously.
My son's pediatrician is Dr.William Beck in the MacGregor medical center. He is Harvard educated, takes his time with each patient, and is generally wonderful. I recommend using him for everything... except maybe this. You can call and ask, but I am not sure if he will do it.
What I did was wait longer than they recommended to get my son vaccinated. Most cases of vaccine-related-autism seem to happen around the two year mark. Since my son was not attending daycare I had the luxury of waiting until I felt comfortable. Now he is four, all caught up with his shots, attending pre-k, and was just accepted into the private school we applied to. YAY! Anyway, maybe you could wait, too?? Just something to think about.

Hi Keisha I'm new to the group , I dont know if you already found a good pedi, I'm a mom of a special needs kid too and I have been in touch with many many pediatricians in San Antonio. Finally I found the Pedidocs Clinic, I think the doctors there are the best, they look really interested in my needs, my son has a rare neurmuscular desease and she is so interested in his condition! there are three female doctors there and I will recomend to call them and ask about the vaccines. the ph is (210) - 733 - 4362 and the site is www.sapedidocs.com I hope I helped.
