My son is turning 8 and wants a Shamu (the killer whale at Sea World) birthday cake for his party. I found some coordinating party supplies on Birthday Express online, but we have always used Sam's Club or Tom Thumb for cakes. They cannot do a cake of Shamu - already checked. And I do not want to spend a fortune on this cake. So does anyone know of a good local bakery that can do a sheet cake like this? It would mean a lot to my little man. FYI - We live in Grapevine.

My mother in law does AWSOME cakes, for my daughters 2nd birthday cake she made a whole castle for the princess theme and this past weekend was the 3rd birthday party where she mad a while "swimming pool" cake including beach balls, floats and ladders. What about ordering a basic sheet cake with blue frosting and then getting a plastic Shamu to go on top (or maybe even a bunch of killer whales or other marine animals, like dolphins)? That way, your son (and his friends, if you want) can have plastic toys to take home as a party favor.
opulent cakes go to the website and check out her work. She is on colleyville Blvd. I used her for a baby shower cake, it cost about 40.00 for a cake to feed 30 people. ( did I mention it wasnt just beautiful and original it was delicious too!)

Creative Memories (The cake place) ###-###-#### or ###-###-#### is in the HEB area and are an excellent choice with a huge variety. Also there is Just Desserts by Marcie in Irving at ###-###-####. These are my first choices in cakes. They are both delicious and have creative choices. Or you can bring in a design (napkin, pic, etc) that they will create for you. It will just depend on when you need the cake.
My neighbor made my son's cake for his 2nd birthday. It was a large sheet cake with Mater and Lightening McQueen on top of it (i will send you a pic if you'd like) It was amazing! And delicious!!
