When buying nail polish, do you open it in the store (bottles without plastic wrap seal) and "sample" it on a nail first to see if you like it?

What can I do next?

No. I've never even considered doing that. I've seen where other people have done that and put bits of paint on the shelf or sign. I don't really see how that's necessary with nail paints being in clear bottles and with descriptions as to whether or not they are are opaque, etc. I buy whatever I think is cute. If I find that don't like it I just pass it on to someone who does.

No, of course not. That is pretty gross and unsanitary in my view.

I purchase higher end nail polish that comes sealed so I know it has not been tampered with at all.

Ugh,

No I've never done that.

I always go for the ones in the back because I figure they haven't been tampered with. ;)

No, but I open anything with a scent to make sure I'll like the way it smells. ;)

No. I can tell if I like a color without trying it first. I love having a wide variety of colors. Right now I have green toenails with white flowers on them.

No, because I would not want to buy that polish that someone else had "sampled".

Unless there's a color in the store that I must have, I buy mine from the nail salon and bring it to my appointments.

No, I just hope I like it. I buy the 'Sinfull Colors" at Walgreens, $1.99/bottle. I have lots of colors.

No, I don't. I get my nails done at the shop but I just buy bottles for my girls and I don't try them on...it would mess up my own polish!

I also will grab one from the back like someone else said, just in case someone did open it and try it out first. I also do that with EVERYTHING I buy...if its on a shelf or rack, I will take one from the back, just to make sure it hasn't been opened first. lol

No way. I don't buy nail polish very often, but I'm going to be more careful in the future when I do. It never even occurred to me that some people do this. I suspect that if a store employee saw someone do this it could be considered theft or they might just make that person buy it.

No. I actually buy most of my nail polish at yard sales and the Goodwill store, and sometimes the salon gives me the polish to take home after a pedicure.

I never buy it since I get my nails done at the salon. But at the salon, yes, I open the bottle and paint a little on my nails to make sure I like the color. Sometimes it looks a little different dry than it does wet, and/or sometimes it's more sheer than I would like.
