My entire yard both back and front, including flower beds as become overrun with ants. There are massive piles everywhere, you can't even walk in the back yard 4 feet in any direction without hitting a mound, they are building up against the house, just everywhere it's out of control. I have tried evey product from the store and they just move the mounds they are not dying. We really need help. Any suggestions on who you know that would be good to come out and rid my yard would be very helpful, and hopefully cost effcient. Thanks!!!!

What can I do next?

Are they fire ants? If so oatmeal works great, they try to eat it and it expands...it truly works. This is what they use at our daycare because it is safe for the kids. HTH

We use ABC pest control. I do not have them put anything in the house, but to just treat around the house and that keeps the stuff out of the house. They use as little as they need and almost all that they use is "green" - things like citronella. They also keep termite spikes in the yard maintained.

You need to try dry molasses. You can buy it at organic nurseries and spread it with a fertilizer spreader. The ants don't like it so they leave the yard. Plus it's safe for your kiddos. We got ours at Green Mama's.

I had this problem when I came back from vacation but they were IN my house! We used ant traps that have poison in them. They eat the poison and take it to their little friends. In two weeks they were completely gone and havent been back. Here is an example of the indoor one. They make them for outdoors also.

Hey S..

A good one to use, most farmers and ranchers use is called Diatomaceous earth or DE. You can get it at most feed stores. It is not dangerous to children or pets and it kills ants almost instantly. Here's a link for you to browse, but there's tons of information out here on the internet.
