Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - Use on Tub? Shoes?

Omg! I absolutely love them! They are gentle enough to use anywhere. My 7 year old loves the smell of the bathroom magic eraser. Sometimes I use just the normal eraser with dawn dish soap in the tub, and it breaks down the ring around the tub, and washes away well. Give them a try and you will be hooked! Hubby will see how happy of a mama you are and he will like them too! Good luck mama!

I'd suggest being careful--they removed hte finish on my laminate countertops! I also am a fan of Norwex, and, instead of buying the consumable pads (which I didn't think were as good as Magic Eraser--but wayyyyy better for you), I just use their enviro cloth--it gets stains out of my carpet, and all but the toughest marks off my walls, without damaging paint or finish, and I save my magic Eraser for things that are really tough.

I discovered the last time I purchased the Mr. Clean magic erasers, they now have the "original", AND new ones for the kitchen and another for the bathroom. The kitchen ones are great...haven't tried the bathroom ones yet, I still use the original ones in there and they work great and no reactions from chemicals.

Me. Clean Magic Erasers are one of the best inventions for cleaning! I have using them for years! The store brand ones didn't to it for me. They clean everything!! Tubs and sneakers are just a couple of ideas. Rinse them out and use them again, until the are absolute beyond help.

I'm not sure why hubby would say no (to using them for the tub or you buying them)???

With the exception of our skin, teeth and eyes, there's NOTHING I won't try the Magic Eraser on! LOL

What type of material is your tub? Ours is a O. piece surround unit and I use it all the time. If it's porcelain--definitely no problem.

I use them on everything! They even remove permanent marker. I am very frugal, so I cut mine into four pieces when I get them so they last longer.

i have used them on the tub, walls(even after painting) they work amazing! i have used them on my white tennis shoes, toys(doll house, kitchen etc) i literally use them on everything lol they work great and ive never had a problem with them ruining anything or staining.

I use it for EVERYTHING. I wipe my appliances with it, light switches, kitchen sink, bathtub, scuffs on the hardwood floor....it even got paint off of my dining room table.

For the tub, use Comet. It is lightly abrasive, but won't hurt the tub, and rinses nicely. It's bleach based, so the bleach will evaporate. Using a scrub brush and a little water, scrub the tub. Then let it sit for 15 minutes. Use the Magic Eraser for whatever the Comet doesn't get.

Yes I do love them too! You have a point about the chemicals, but I would say just do an extra wash with regular soap and hot water before putting your baby in the tub and it will probably be okay!

I use mine for as much as possible...but mostly to get dirt and grime from the dogs/kids off the walls, stairs, railings, etc. They do leave kind of a powdery residue, so just go over it with a clean cloth.

I've used it on our tub and had no issues...LOVE it! Used it on lots of stuff and never had issues. Can use on walls too, but rub lightly, so the paint doesn't come off. Lightly is all you need for a lot of things. Also, I rinse out the tub really well when done and then run the shower for a few minutes. You could also use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar if you are really worried about the chemicals.

We use them right before recital on the kids ballet shoes and their tap shoes. They look brand new afterwards.

I have used them on the walls to take off all kinds of messes.

The only thing I have noticed is that I can't seem to store them well. They turn sour and stink. So I try to use it up all in a day or two.

The material they are made of is dense, foam-like almost. It just grabs what it is going over and takes it away. It does not scratch or leave anything behind.

I use them to get scuff marks off the walls. It also works to remove pen and pencil marks. Also used them to take care of that discoloration on the walls that occurs near light switches from a build up of oil from hands slapping the whole switch plate and part of the wall instead of just using a single finger to turn the light on and off.

It seems I mostly use them on the walls but I'm sure you could get really creative with them. I use Bon Ami powdered cleanser on the tub.

I've used Magic Eraser on my tub for longer than I can remember. It does a fantastic job. It is the main thing I use them for, actually.

I also use it on my kitchen counters to remove stains, on floors, switch plates, the metal front door, house siding, and very, very gently on painted walls. I also used it once to clean pen marks off a baby doll.

You do need to read the package and know the materials in your home. Do not use them on wood or glossy surfaces. Also, don't use it on skin. I felt the need to say skin because people actually do that and hurt themselves.

The Bathtub-specific Erasers do contain cleanser.

They are GREAT! I absolutely love these things. There is nothing you cant use them on I swear.

I use it on my tub all the time and it is the quickest and easiest way to get the ring off of the tub. I love it, I just rinse really well and wipe down with a towel and then I think it's good. My son drinks his tub water too and he's doing good! Lol. I think it's fine :)

I use it on walls, counters, hard water stains, permanent marker, grease, the cars, ETC!

I usually use it all at the same time and then toss it so it's not sitting around. And they are pretty affordable which is always good too.

We use a similar product called "Micro Hand Pads" from a direct-sales company called Norwex. They are exactly like the Magic Erasers, but with natural ingredients instead of the chemicals (including formaldehyde - yuck!) that are in the name brand. The Norwex version has gotten a large variety of things off my walls, fridge handles, tub/vanity, door frames, etc., and I feel better about using them. I'm sure you can find someone who sells Norwex or just go online and order them. I think it's like $5.99 for a box of two and they always last us awhile. Oh, and the Norwex version doesn't take paint off the walls!

they do work really well..however i always used a tad of dawn dish soap to clean tub-safe non toxic and u have it right on hand

i don't know about the tub. my dh got some to use on some icky bug smears on our ceiling, but they left spots that looked like water damage so we had to repaint.
my spare son uses it on his sneakers all the time. says it really does work like magic!

I don't use the magic eraser. I tried it years ago on somethings and it damaged the finish.

I learned about using vinegar and Dawn for the tub/shower recently from another board and used it last week. It will now be the only thing I use for the tub/shower. Heat one cup vinegar in microwave until hot. Then mix in one cup Dawn (original blue). Pour into spray bottle. Spray on tub/shower and let sit for 1/2 hour. Then scrub with a brush or sponge and rinse well. My tub was so clean. The brushed nickel fixtures also look amazing now. I could not get the white mineral deposits off them with other cleaners that I had tried.

Yesterday on a blog (maybe fabulously frugal) that had a variation on this cleaner that used less Dawn and used cornstarch. The cornstarch was mixed in with the vinegar before heating. After heating, it created a gel then just a couple tablespoons of Dawn was mixed in. The cornstarch helps thicken the mixture to hold it where your spray and with less Dawn, it made it less sudsy. If I find the blog again, I will edit my post with the correct amounts.

I used Mr C to clean some stains off a vinyl floor and laminate countertop - completely removed the finish from both. Apparently I'm in the minority on this, but test first please!
