My husband and I will soon be moving to the Seattle area. We know nothing about the area. We know that we do not want to live in the city, we are looking at the areas south such as King County, etc. We are looking for a good family community, we will be starting our family soon and we wish to start in a good environment. I would appreciate any help I can get! Any suggesstions/information would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi J., my name is D. and my husband and I currently live in King County. We have a family and let me tell you Maple Valley is a great area. Were we live is great. My daughters elementry school is 2 blocks down. It is very quiet and peacful. It is a great area for starting a family. Its safe, my husband is a deputy for the King County Sheriff's office and theres like 6 differnet officers that live in the area. We really like it. What areas have you looked at? My husband being a cop I know whats bad and was good as far as areas. If you would like to chat about it let me know. Hi J. I live in the Burien area which is near the airport. It is a short commute to everything. 15 min to downtown Seattle, 15 mins to malls and shopping, 20 min to Bellevue, ect. The town is going through lots of new development also. I moved to Seattle 3 years ago and was completely against living in Burien, but now I do with a child and I like it, not to big but not to small.
If you have any intrest I can give you a small tour call me at ###-###-####. J. Tiesman

Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Maple Valley are all great areas! Not the big city but close to the important things. Good luck!

Hello, my name is R. and I live in Tacoma which is about 30 minutes from Seattle. Living in Seattle is not the place to start a family I agree. If you want a nice neighborhood that you are looking to raise kids try University Place here in Tacoma also try the North End of Tacoma. You may also look at Renton and Bellevue. Hope this helps.

Hi J., My name is E., not sure if you've moved yet or not but if you want to stick to king county, i'd say federal way or maple valley, maybe even renton, if you want to go pierce county i personally think the spot would be Puyallup. I hope you like it here in WA
