Mothers That Nursed (But Are Now Done): Odd Question About Nipples

Okay, so I have a weird question here. I nursed our daughter for 21 months; she's now almost 6 years old so it's almost four years later. My nipples are constantly erect now! This was definitely not the case pre-nursing. Is this the new "normal" for me? Just curious....
Padded bras are now a must :)

What can I do next?

Yep, constantly. I have to wear really thick bras now or I get stares. I can't help it! I also have a lot of cami's that I wear under clothes for more padding. It's crazy. My husband likes it though!

I nursed for 30 months, and my nipples are erect a lot of the time, my DD is now about 4 and 3 months and they are just now appearing half erect, the base is softening? but the tips are still hard? I wondered this too, so I am glad you asked.

LOL. I want my pre-pregnancy boobs back so bad (FYI for others reading this I don't think it was just nursing I think it was the pregnancy). My son is 3 and I nursed him for 24 months. I think it's normal. I am not sure why but I have this problem a lot now. At least you aren't alone.

Hi LeeLee,

I also nursed my son for 21 months and he is 6 too. Now, I think the opposite occurred with me my nipples are flat as a floor.. what's up with that? They are at times sensitive and but the color is darker too.

Hi LeeLee,
Look for Tiffanie's question 'a little personal but...' from 7 hrs ago. Same subject.

To answer your question...yes, I guess my nips ARE a little more sensitive posted nursing than they were pre motherhood (and it's been 12 years since I've nursed a baby).

:)

Your nipples may be a bit more sensitive now, especially to rubbing materials like shirts and bras. I nursed for 4 years and do not notice a difference in my nipples other than they are slightly darker than before and stayed that way.
