I have been in the area 3 years and need to find a pre-school for my son . We moved up from baltimore where my other son went to school , but i am lost out here .and i perfer to start with referrals and then do interveiws then just by the phone book
My son goes to Christ Lutheran PreSchool in Shrewsbury, PA. It came highly recommended. We have had a great experience so far. Open registration for next year started at the end of Feb, so if you'd like to check it out I'd go soon. It fills up and there is usually a waiting list.

I have my daughter at Mt. Zion Kids Korner off Mt. Zion Road, just up the hill from th Galleria. I LOVE the programs they have there and the directors Judy and Linda are fantastic. I don't know the phone number off hand, but they are in the phone book.

Before we sent our daughter(now 7), we visited SEVERAL in the York area. The one we choose is absolutely WONDERFUL. It is St. John Lutheran church and school on Mt. Rose Avenue. I have already written a review in the preschool section here on mamma source. I am sure you have probably looked there. They are superior to the other preschools because they are actually a real school. They continue on until 8th grade I think. So they have a gym, and a cafeteria, and a principle. These are things you just don't find at the others. It was a huge help in helping our daughter transition into the public schools. I wish you best of luck. If you do decide to go with them, could you mention my name please. I think I will get some sort of referal reward, and I plan on sending my son (he is 2 & 1/2) there soon (when he is 3).
