I take my children to Dr. Tom Lacy at TLC Pediatrics. He and his staff are very nice. I have quite high expectations from my pediatrician (see my posting on 9/20/06) and have been very happy that I moved over to Dr. Lacy.
I am a mother of 2 - 3 years and 6 1/2 months. I've had a pretty good experience with Dr. Beverly Acker with Physician Associates on University Blvd. near UCF. She is very knowledgable. What I really like about her is that she doesn't like to put children on any medications unless absolutely necessary.
I don't know exactly where you are located but I am in Apopka and take my kids to Pediatric associates of Orlando. they have a location on mills as well as one in Dr. Phillips. I go to mills location and love it. The Dr. I take my kids to is usually Dr Mark Didea. He is a wealth of information and doesn't make you feel bad for the things you do for your kids. He doesn't make a parent feel bad for feeding a baby cereal earlier that "recommended" because he is a parent and realizes that some babies need more than formula... I have seen another Dr. there too, his name eludes me but I really liked him too. Another great thing is that they have separate waiting room for well and sick kids, and the shuttle infants to a separate waiting area until they have had their first immunizations. They are open on Saturdays for emergencies too... good luck finding that in a dr. office. Good luck on your search. I hope I helped.
When I was pregnant with my daughter I spoke with TLC pediatrics off of Alafyia. The staff including their billing and schedulers is amazing! They are so nice, and I've refered many people to them. There are two doctors, Dr. Lacy (man)and Dr. Elias (woman) who are both equally qualified. They always answer all of my questions and are especially great with my children. They have awesome office hours including 7:30am-noon on Saturday and I have NEVER had a problem with them.
The nurses all know me and my children on a first name basis and Dr. Lacy and Elias both were there for me and for our children when I needed guidance after my husband left me.
I feel they are exceptionally qualified and live up to every bit of their name Tender Loving Care. Dr. Lacy has five children of his own full grown and Dr. Elias a one year old. So as you can see they have their bases covered.
When you are pregnant they hold meet and greet sessions on Saturdays so you should call to schedule yours and know that your baby and you will be in very good hands come delievry day.
Their phone number is: ###-###-####

I know they accept Aetna but not sure about rest. They will give you a list or tell you over the phone.
I am a speech language pathologist. I would like to highly recommend Dr. Andrew Summers!!! 5 stars!
Tell him that I recommended you. He is thorough and extremely knowledgeable. It is not such a huge practice with a million doctors.

Good Afternoon R.,
My children ages 8yrs, 4yrs and 6 months all go to Dr Q Pediatrics located on Alafaya Trail heading towards Avalon Park. They are wonderful! There are two female doctors: Dr Q and Dr Geismar ~ I have seen them both.
The only thing both of these doctor's don't do is make hospital visits. You just have the Pediatrician on call at the hospital fax over their report to Dr Q's office.
If your child needs to be admitted to the hospital, she will find the best doctor to admit your child ~ my 4 year old (a couple years back) had to be admitted and she found a very well known doctor to care for her in the hospital. I use to work at a hospital where this doctor was a attending and he was a very good doctor. Their number is ###-###-####, if you prefer they may be able to make an interview appt for you to ask questions.
Good Luck,
J.
I HIGHLY recommend Interlachen Pediatric Group. ###-###-#### They have an office in Oviedo and one off of Old Howell Branch Road and 436. They have MANY doctors, most of whom are top notch. Stay away from the Nurse Practitioners, though. I take both of my girls there. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for an appointment. They also have walk-in hours (I think 8:00 - 9:00 AM) Monday through Friday, and appointments available first come, first server on Saturdays. Our doctor is Dr. Emily Aguilar and she is great! She takes her time, speaks softly (which is great is your child is afraid like mine was), is VERY through and allows you to ask as MANY questions as you like. I NEVER feel rushed with her. Another good doctor there is Dr. Ward (female). I don't care much for Dr Holston. The male doctors are great too. When you make an appointment, make sure you ask for the doctor you want. Otherwise, you get whomever is on that day.
Hi R. R. I also have two kids and I take them to Pediatric Care Group/ Dr. Miguel Silva and Dr. Maria Martinez. Dr. Martinez is a female. This group is located in Lake Underhill in front of Florida Hospital East. They are both great. They treat children like they are their own. When my children have been sick they both have been great and have pinpointed the right diagnosis. Since I am a nurse for me that is very important. Good luck with your new addition. A.
