Missing Cat

I'm in Groveland too we probably know each other our kids are the same age. BEWARE OF MISSING CATS IN GROVELAND, COYOTES!!! FISHER CATS!! My indoor Bengal has been missing over a month and I'm devastated. The kid left the back slider open, he decided to explore. They really do not stand a chance if they are hunted and they will get hunted if your not careful!! ESPECALLY BE CAREFUL OF SMALL CHILDREN AS WELL!!!

Also contact Jen the ACO, post flyers particulary Market Basket and your neighborhood. People will try to help, I got calls actually showed up to find one cat look just like mine, but not him. Once the cats start going out they will like it, it's hard to keep them in. It's just a big risk!

Wait. Cat will hopefully make its way home. Introduce a kitten to keep it exciting at home.

Make sure she is spayed and if you don't mind not seeing her til the next day, just let her go. If you are scared she will be attacked by something, then put a collar and leash on her and walk her around at night so she will get a chance to be outdoors at the time of day she likes to be out. I have seen cats walked on a leash before! It's odd, but it will keep the cat happy.

They come back. Mine did-- put food and water out on the front or back step and keep looking. Is she spayed?? She needs to be if you want her to stay indoors. You'd be amazed and their instincts and smell. I also put my cat's litter outside so that he would smell that too. As soon as I saw him, I opened the door and tempted him with treats which always work.

We tried to keep our cats indoors, but they would bolt for the door as soon as anyone opened it, so we had to concede that they wanted to be outside and hope that they would be OK. We live an area with coyotes, foxes, fisher cats, and all manner of other wildlife, so we were really concerned. But, it's been over 12 months since we let them venture freely outdoors and they are both still alive and well! We have a cat door, and keep their food and bed inside the house so that they can come in to eat, drink, sleep and be safe. Unfortunately, cats are predatory animals by nature - if they want to be outside exploring there may be little you can do to stop it.

When I had kittens I wanted to stay inside I would make a loud noise when they got near the door. The associated the door with being scared and stayed away.

Cats adjust to being indoors. Your cat is young enough to make the transition. Outdoor cats have an average life span of 5 years, indoor cats live 15 years. Outdoor cats are exposed to parasites, other feline infectious diseases, fleas (which they bring home to you) and not to mention predators. Coyotes love cat meat! Cats that are un-neutured/un-spayed add to the feral cat population and they suffer. Keep your cat indoors and let them outside only with supervision. Hope your cat is ok and comes home.
