I have a mirena iud and have had it for almost a yr. I always feel pregnant and it sucks! Im hyper sensitid to he hcg hormone and produce alot when im pregnant which results in alot of crazy stuff.....I suffer from hyperemesis while pregnant, basically extreme vomiting. So I feel sick all the time, I have to eat every few hours, I have heartburn all the time. So my question is could this be because of my iud cause ifit is then it is coming out! If im gonna feel pregnant then I want to be pregnant and I don want that anytime soon!

What can I do next?

I don't have one. Never will. So I can't speak from experience...
But if you type it in the search bar up there to the right you will find that someone asks a question about it almost every other day.
LOTS of women have problems w/ it.
Sounds like you need to get it removed, imo.
Hope someone's post gives you the insight you are looking for.

I've had Mirena for almost a year and have never had any problems. After a day or two I forgot I even had it put in!

If you are sensitive to hormones, you might want to check w/your obgyn...even the small amount Mirena releases could be making you feel sick or bloated.

That's too bad about your experience b/c Mirena has been an answer to my prayers. Hope you get it worked out.

I have had the Mirena for a little over a yr now. Other than heavy periods for the 1st 4months, I have had no problems with it at all. So definitely talk to your doc about it.

Check with your doc. I have the paragard non hormonal with no problems. My sister has the mirena and she thought she was pregnant for a year. Then that stopped and she got severe heartburn and hot flashes. Now at the 3 yr mark, she's ok. Her doc told her it gets better with time, I guess that's good if you can stand it that long!

Yes, I think it's a side effect of the iud. I got mine in December and have had no concerns. I just went to see my OB and he asked a LOT of questions about it. If you're not comfortable, let your doctor know and get it out! There are many other options.

I am very sensitive to hormones and had problems with both mirena and the paraguard. With paraguard I bled constantly and heavily. With Mirena, I had a lot of GI issues and felt like I was pmsing all the time. I gave up after a year and had it pulled.

I have also had a mirena IUD for a year and have not experienced any of those side effects. I would talk to your OB.

I have had it for two months now and I kind of feel ya. Mine hasn't been as bad what you are talking about, but sometimes I feel like I could be. It's something I will be talking to my doctor about it with, and I HIGHLY suggest you do the same tomorrow.
